Overall this is a great release. It's limited to only 3000 copies, so hurry if you want it: http://www.amazon.fr/13ème-guerrier-...arrior+blu+ray
Thanks for that,I just ordered it.Excellent movie.I hope there is no problem receiving it.

To remind folks here how the two current releases of The 13th Warrior stack up:

13th Warrior, The
FR - AVC 25000 kbps, DTS-HD MA 5.1 2258 kbps 16-bit, BD50, no English subs (Region B)
DE - VC-1 19950 kbps, DTS-HD MA 5.1 2304 kbps 16-bit, BD25, forced German subs (Region free but 50Hz content)

The FR disc is the way to go if you have a region free player. The German disc is region free, but with the PAL content and the fact it has forced German subs sort of kills it for region A folks.

One of my favorites, complete shame this hasn't gotten the treatment it deserves. Never has for that matter.

Unfortunately, with Crichton deceased and McTiernan still in prison I seriously doubt this will happen by the end of the year.

Wasn't Arnold Schwarzenegger originally in this or Am I getting my facts mixed up with the Paul Verhoeven's planned, but never filmed "Crusades" movie and Ridley Scott aborted adaptation of I Am Legend?

Remember renting this on VHS when it came out and the dark lighting, along with the still pre-requisite panning and scanning made this almost unwatchable to me ; you could tell it had big chunks taken out of it, too!

Now THIS is one I wish Shout Factory could scoop up. I know it's Touchstone (hence, Disney) and so it will never happen. But I guarantee that if Shout got this, we'd have features out the wazoo and some nice packaging. But, Disney? Bare bones at best.
Slipcovers I am willing to trade: Brave, Haywire, Ninja Assassin, Lawrence Of Arabia, Super 8

Slipcovers I am looking for/will trade for: X-Men, X2, The Mummy, The Mummy Returns, Sucker Punch

Nice, just watched this a few months back on DVD for the first time and liked it. Will pick up at some point.

Derek Flint: No, no, no, sir, I wrote those.

Because these were the two prominent makers of the film. If this was going to get produced for BD one or both of these guys could make it happen. Crichton had a lot of clout when he was around. You have to remember, this was the guy that came up with Lost, ER, Jurassic Park, and many other hits.
