Japan Sky Captain (Japan)

Anyone get this version? Have the specs? I know it has True-HD. Is it on a BD-50?

$7.50 vs $44
I love this movie but I'm not going to pay full price for it. Better try and find a second hand JP copy.

Out of my price range. It appears the DVD had a cheaper reissue last year but the blu ray didn't

Does the Scandi release contain English subtitles during the German language scenes? The Japanese release does.

Yep.

It also has the majority of the extras from the US disc, minus the commentaries.

Excellent, thanks for the info.

Any way you can give a break down of the disc's technical info? To add to the table below...

US/UK - MPEG-2 18370 kbps, DD 5.1 640 kbps/DTS 5.1 1509 kbps, BD25 (Region free)

JP - AVC 31721 kbps, Dolby TrueHD 5.1 2589 kbps 24-bit, BD50 (Region A) Best PQ/AQ

May I ask where you ordered it from? I haven't found many Scandinavian stores selling to other countries. I've ordered from dvdoo.dk sometime ago but they don't have Sky Captain.

AVC, BD-25, DTS-HD-MA 5.1 48kHz. Absolutely no idea how to find out the rate of kbps for the transfer or audio.
Also firmly locked to Region B.

Aside from recommended sites from here and HDD, I actually use Google and actually go to the required Google of whatever country and use the translate feature to find not only stores, but disc reviews. I wanted the Drive Czech digibook and sure as hell wasn't getting into a group buy for it. So, I found a Czech site on my own and just ordered it.

Just ordered a used copy for about $20 shipped, one of the few moments when living in Japan doesn't suck (for an American).
