Lightbulb The FreyMAX 3D Projection Theater - Second Barrage

So, I've decided to start up this new FreyMax 3D Theater thread here in the HT Gallery section, it's been almost a year and a half since I requested my original HT thread be closed down. I've decided to start out new and fresh, and see how it goes this time. I don't have any new photos to post as of yet, so for now I will just direct you to my most recent photos in the Home Theater Gallery link just below my avatar at left.

Here is a pic of the front of my theater room:

A pic of the "Twin Towers of Power":

My media shelves, real marquee signage, and computer area:

And my snack bar area, with commercial popcorn machine, glass candy counter, and keg fridge:

My theater room still looks pretty much the same as these 3 year old photos above, as I have made very few changes or upgrades since then; the only items in the first photo that have changed are an updated center channel speaker, black ceiling tiles and black egg-crate diffusers in the fluorescent light fixtures. It's the black diffusers and tiles that make taking any updated photos a bit challenging, as the egg-crates direct all the light downward, making the room itself almost too dark now for taking any decent photos.

On a side note, I just got myself a new car last Friday!

I traded-in my 2008 Scion xD and my 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 pickup, which was rusting away in my driveway, out of inspection and undriven for over a year, and picked up this near-showroom-condition 2012 Scion xB with 26,000 miles on it - so much more spacious and comfortable to drive in than the xD. I needed a car with large doors for easy access, for both me with my wide girth, and for my elderly parents to chauffeur them around in. I also needed a vehicle with a high roof line to provide adequate headroom for my tall torso, but I didn't really want to get either a minivan or an SUV - so I think this was a great alternative instead!

I will need to get a new vanity license plate for the xB, as my old vehicle-specific plate doesn't really work anymore, lol.

So anyway, the very first day I drive it to work, the first guy there to see my car as I pulled into the parking space comes up to me and says "Hey - you know what that car looks like?"

[Show spoiler]

I can't imagine at all why he would think that...

You mean, baby Huey, don't you, SD? Big boy needs big toy to fit in, lol...

And yeah, I do like my pair of old vintage Cerwin Vega 380SE's for L & R, they're still able to really crank it up - I needed something to be able to handle the power of those QSC pro amps without having to use ugly PA speakers...

Sigh, always thinking of food, aren't you?! I'll have to take a photo of some freshly-made scrapple piled up on my snack bar, and I'll post that one right up for you!

Very unique and nice setup.
BTW, part of my family moved to Kentucky out of Lancaster County. I've always wanted to visit the area.

Thanks, Guys. Everything was constructed by me myself, so it's not a super-nice professional setup or anything - I built the stage, the bar table for the second row seating (seen in my gallery photos), the wall columns the lights are mounted on, the media shelves, even the keg fridge I converted from an upright freezer!

Hey MovieFan, got your PM - yep, I'm back - I probably won't be quite as active in the HT forum as I was a few years ago, but I'll be around at least, and I have a home thread now again...

I'm lovin' my new Scion xB... I just received WeatherTech Floor liners and Vent shades for it, and already put the vent shades on yesterday evening. I just need to vacuum the carpets in the car a little before installing the liners this morning... I also have a cargo net on it's way - I used the cargo net in my xD all the time to hold stuff from rolling around in the back. I want to get the rear spoiler and a rear bumper protector for it yet, and then I'll get some aftermarket wheels later on, probably when it's time to replace the tires.

Welcome, sir! My rears are also fairly vintage, those are a pair of Infinity SM-152, also with 15" drivers. I moved into the multi-channel HT realm about 9 years ago, after being a vintage stereo collector for many years, so the speakers I'm using in the theater are still left-over vestiges of that hobby. Even still, there's just something about the sound of large old speakers that I like over the smaller HT speakers of today... And, with such large speakers and the amount of amplifier power in my A/V rack, I don't really need any more than the 5.1 surround I'm using...
