Something tells me that her decision on the matter has very little to do with the actual cost.

Its a little bit of both; you see we are getting a house built which should be done by February and I've spent over 4k on statues and toys in the past 6 months.

Picked this up when it was 20% off the sale price last week (free shipping too). Was trying to get it in that awesome pose on the website but could not get him to stay upright. Love it though. Likeness is crazy good.

Congrats, wasn't a huge fan of IM3 but that's a nice figure. That shadow in the 4th picture kind of makes it look like he wet his pants.

Exclamation Look What I Just Got!!!!!

My mother makes Reborns (dolls that look like real babies), and she is part of a LARGE community of other artists. One day she told me that she knew one that was a HUGE "Star Wars" fan, who made all sorts of dolls based on the characters (and even ENTIRE costumes, like Padme's outfits). This woman has even made her very own, life-sized R2-D2!!! Being me, I asked, "Has she ever done a Threepio doll?" Within a few days we found out that she HADN'T, and she had started working on it immediately! Now, these dolls are HUNDREDS of dollars, so I ended up making payments because even though I hadn't planned on it, NOBODY ELSE was getting this doll!! After my final payment, she sent him with quite a few features I hadn't asked for or expected: his eyes light up, he TALKS (he says, "Hello, sir! I am C-3PO, human/cyborg relations!" and, a few seconds after, "Sir, if you'll not be needing me, I'll close down for awhile."), he has a "Star Wars" blankey, an Artoo "teddy bear", an Official "Rebal Legion Galactic Senate" patch (it's held to the blanket through the power of static electricity), and 2 "Rebel Legion: The First Ten Years- 2000-2010" stickers! (I've had the pop-up book for years, I figured it'd look nice in front of baby Threepio.)

I'm not into Reborns at all, but with THIS woman? Oh, we're gonna do quite a bit of business together. All sorts of characters are in my head now! The next one I ask for is DEFINITELY gonna be a challenge for her, but I have more space on that chair, and the one next to a Threepio like this is gonna HAVE to shine just as bright!
"I can't live the buttoned down life like all of you! I want it all: the terrifying lows, the dizzying highs, the creamy middles! Sure, I might offend a few of the blue-noses with my cocky stride and musky odor - oh, I'll never be the darling of the so-called 'City Fathers' who cluck their tongues, stroke their beards, and talk about what's to be done with this Monkey_Boy?!"

No offense, but I think that 3P0 is going to give me nightmares, ha.

I see you have a ton of other Star Wars stuff in the background, what all is in your collection?

A couple new items I received this past week.

Got this Koto Iron Man Mark II for $65 on eBay. Lights work perfectly.

And my very first Sideshow piece! I've been wanting a Spiderman statue for quite some time and I just love this look.

Nice! Congrats on your first Sideshow piece and a good choice. He looks lonely without Mary Jane, you better get her too and feed the addiction.

No offense taken! These dolls ain't for everybody. If you think Threepio is creepy, you should see the Reborn of my daughter that my mother made. It looks JUST like her! If you're really interested to see what else I have, feel free to check out my Home Gallery. I have an entire room devoted to ALL of my favorite things; from "Star Wars" to Superheroes to horror figures to (nearly) a whole wall devoted to "The Simpsons"!

Very nice pieces!
I will echo terp_fan, as I have the same Spiderman piece and together with BOTH MJ & Gwen, it makes for a great little diorama.
Also SS just releases the same Spidey statue with a revised paint scheme, fyi. I'm thinking about getting that one and as to break up the 2-on-1, presently, going on with the 3 statues!

Edit: After posting that pic I went ahead and ordered...I'm so weak!

Okay that Simpsons wall is pretty neat.

It's so hard to convince yourself that you don't need them all once you have one statue of the set, ha. I just have Spidey and MJ, stopped myself from getting Gwen. This last week I've been talking myself out of getting into the HT Marvel line. I already pre-ordered the Guardians of the Galaxy figures a while back, now I think I need more when I really don't!
