Ever heard the expression "The beauty of stupidity"? Of course you haven't, because I just made it up. But that kind of appies here. The beauty of the simple plot is to see what a couple of idiots would do if another couple of idiots strapped a bomb to one of them and they only had a set amount of time to accomplish something. Also, if the guy says you have x hours and don't call the cops or I'll blow you up. Well, if you're an idiot, you probably won't be able to devise a plot to sneak an undercover bomb squad agent into your house to defuse it.

Of course this is all pointless, because it's a stupid comedy.

A stupid comedy I found hilarious!!

When they were butt-f***ing Jason, I was almost on the floor!!

And then the “have a beer, it’ll wash the taste of yourself out of your mouth” line I almost did a spit-take!!

I agree with you... I know exactly what you're saying but, what I mean is, this movie wasn't billed or sold as a "stupid character" movie. When I think of those comedies (stupid-character movies, which are great) I think of titles like Ace Ventura, Dumb & Dumber, or anything with Will Ferrell in it, aka "Man-Child" movies, where the characters are actually dumb and we know it and accept it.

There's no set-up that lets on that Jesse Eisenberg and Aziz Ansari are dumb "man-children" in 30-Minutes or Less like Jim Carrey characters, Jeff Daniels characters, Will Ferrell characters or John C Reilly characters are in their movies.

Thirty Minutes or Less was set up like a regular comedy aka The Hangover or Superbad but, to me wasn't as funny as either Superbad, Hangover, Ace Ventura or a Will Ferrell flick. Good but, not laugh-out-loud funny is all.

I actually thought it was pretty obvious from the trailers that Eisenberg and Ansari's characters where huge idiots, as well as McBride's and Swardson's. It was a double, double-idiot comedy. So 'what would an intelligent person do', etc. never crossed into my mind. Besides, I think the not calling the police - or anyone for that matter - was handled by a line or two of dialogue.

Besides, Eisenberg's character never called anybody - he just visited them.

Plus this is just a preposterous, silly comedy. It was very funny to me so it was easy to not think seriously about it.
