Dont get too excited!

This is a very soft transfer. To be honest, it hardly looks HD and the sound is pretty bad too.

Any news on a special edition, that includes both Ratio's and a much improved menu screen?

I'm sure you meant a "very limp transfer"? Some countries will string you up for passing on a perfectly set-up sex pun!

It looks and sounds the way it's supposed to.

I don't know. I saw EWS twice in theaters and I remember it being the most gorgeously grainy studio film I have ever seen in my life. It helped add to the dream atmosphere. No home video release of it has ever captured that.

Now maybe it was just the release prints I saw, but I find it hard to believe they messed up two different release prints of a Kubrick film.

The Blu-ray looks grainy as hell to me that easily maintains the hazy dreamlike quality of the photography.

Granted it's 15 years ago, but as I remember it, the Blu-Ray still doesn't look half as grainy as the two 35mm release prints I saw.

What I remember from seeing it in the theater was that it looked like some of the films that we now see filmed with HD cameras. It looked as if it was shot in HD instead of on film. But, of course it was not. But, I remember that it looked unlike any other film that I had seen. Just rather odd looking for a film of that time. Now, it would fit in. And, I am not saying this as a bad thing. I really liked the way it looked. Very unique.

I remember the same thing, it looked like a hallucination the two times I saw it from a 35mm print. The intense grain contributed to a haze throughout the film. It has never looked the same on DVD or BD.
