I must have missed that. Wonder if they'll do the same with UK discs.

Dunno. I just want to find out if there's a way I can get a replacement, or if I'm gonna be forced to buy the damn movie again just to get what was advertised in the first place.

Do newer box sets have the fixed mono or just the individual release?
The fixed discs started showing up in trilogy sets in July. It is identifiable by looking on the underside of the disc on the center it says V2. If you go back a few pages to my posts you'll find that info.
Edit to add...sorry, my original post was not in this thread, but in TGTBTU single release thread from Oct.

FoxConnect was willing to replace mine because I originally purchased it from them. Not sure if they'd replace it if you bought it from somewhere else.

BUT, yes, the disc has been corrected.

See this thread for the whole conversation on it: http://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=251552

So unless I bought it directly from Fox, I'm probably screwed? Nice way to do business. I'm not giving them more money just to get what was supposed to be right in the first place.

So I just unsealed my trilogy copy that I purchased from Foxconnect.com a few months ago. I looked at the back of the TGTBTU disc. That's some really small lettering there! And trying to read through all the reflections isn't easy. I had a feeling like the sun and the planets had to be lined up just right to make anything out. BUT ... I did see a V2 at the end of one of those cryptic lines of text, so I'm going to assume that I'm good. Thanks for the tip!

The $12.99 trilogy set I got at Best Buy a few days ago has the "V2" on the disc.

I finally got my replacement set from FoxConnect and The Good the Bad and the Ugly has the V2 designation.
Hey Chiefy, next time you just ask me which line to pull.

I think I found the post you're referring to in the other TGTBTU thread, which I copied below. If that's indeed the post, I'm a little concerned (but not overly). I took another look at the back of my TGTBTU disc, trying to make out the text before the V2. My text is very different from the text you posted, although it does end with a "V2", if that means anything. ??? There were 2 lines of text on my disc, one on each "half" of the disc. Still with me? hehe. I'm not positive if I got all the letters right, but this is what I think I saw.

One line of text: 9655 M1301940 E41010-08G 2339 V2
Other line of text: 9655 M1301941 E41014-06H 0281 V2

So does this mean anything to anybody? (It's gibberish to me). Or am I making this way more complicated than it has to be?

I just checked both discs, and they are identical. Both have the original mono track on them. The newer 5.1 track is not mixed down on the trilogy pack I just purchased last week from Best Buy. It seems Fox has silently corrected and released corrected trilogies.
I would also note....when I changed discs, my machine recognized it as the same disc and asked if I wanted to continue where I left off.

Markings on the October released disc are...E40613-01H 9193 V2 on the inner ring of the disc.

Markings on the Trilogy disc I picked up last week are E40613-01H 9193 V2 on the inner ring of the disc. Yep, it is identical.

If it says V2, I would say your safe. The batch of numbers you got is just identification of a different batch from probably a different manufacturing plant or authored after the first batch of V2's were out in retail.

Thank you. I was thinking (make that hoping) along the same lines.

Thinking I might grab the German edition of For a Few Dollars More. Anyone know if this double feature offers anything different or is it just a repackage?

[Show spoiler]

And what's the gist of the uncut footage versus the US release?

There are some threads in the German subforum where an owner of the discs goes into detail. It sounds like that set is a good deal if you want to own the Italian Fistful transfer (albeit with German titles) and the best edition of Few available.

I'd venture to guess that it's just a repackage of the two discs together, but I have no concrete knowledge...that's just pure speculation. Seems the likeliest scenario, however.

I have both of the individual German releases, and am happy with them. The Fistful transfer is beautiful, and while the FAFDM transfer comes from a dated source with some undeniable problems, I do think it's the best option for owning the film on BD. Especially being the only uncut version.

Just picked this up. I remember these films from my childhood as some of my favorite. I believe they were my introduction to westerns which is my second favorite genre behind science fiction. Hmm, I wonder if that's why I like Firefly/Serenity so much Can't wait to spin them up. Quality films in every regard Nice thick slip, too. I thought it would have a thin cardboard one.

Mine arrived in the mail today. I had some RZ Certificates for Best Buy so I got it for $6. Great price for three great films.
