Kind of sad. As a huge fan of The Crow I was looking forward to a remake that would've more closely followed the original graphic novel. Hopefully things gets worked out.

I didn't realize Ed Pressman was still involved with the franchise anymore. From the few accounts I've heard, he's a real pain to people. This property deserves someone who can treat it with more respect, along with its creator.

Best news I ever heard. Can they also go back in time and erase all the other sequels and TV show?

With the exception of Wicked Prayer which is indeed horrible, the others & TV show aren't so bad if taken for what they are. The Crow itself was never meant to be just Eric, there have been many avatars before & after him. I always like see or reading the stories of other Crows. What I like about City of Angels isn't so much the movie itself but the troubles it had during production. What it was intended to be would've been better received I think compared to what it ultimately became. Salvation wasn't so bad either, I kind of enjoy that one too.

I like aspects of The Crow: Salvation, but there are times when the production values just feel cheap. And there are moments where Eric Mabius's hair is at a certain length in one shot, and then radically shorter the next, in the same scene.

I agree with the production value in certain parts I never noticed that about his hair, I'll have to rewatch it. For the movie they borrowed some light story elements from the book The Crow: The Lazarus Heart but I'm glad they didn't base the whole movie on it. Although it wouldve brought a more horror aspect to the film I don't think many fans would've liked the main characters if they had.

I liked the main story of Salvation too, but felt the content was too extreme in several places. I also noticed the inconsistencies in various scenes, but most of the performances were very good. I once asked James O'Barr at a convention, what he thought of that movie. He said he really liked Eric Mabius' portrayal, but felt everything else "still needed lots of work".

I've been wanting to do a fan edit the last few years, minimizing the content and re-focusing the story. I just haven't gotten around to it yet...

I know we were talking about Salvation, but on the subject of edits, my ideal version of City of Angels would restore every filmed-but-deleted scene, and put everything in the correct chronological order, but remove most of the sexual content. Language and violence could stay. But for instance, when Nemo goes to the peep show, cut out the entire exchange with Holly Daze and just have Ashe be the first person that Nemo sees when he inserts the coins.

Most of my edits to Salvation would involve scenes at the Key Club, the police captain's obsession with taxidermy, and repeated flashbacks to Lauren's murder. Regarding the latter, I'd use certain clips of it in various places, so Alex pieces the whole thing together as the narrative progresses. I;d also ditch the idiotic concept of the captain deceiving Alex; even James O'Barr hated that notion.

I agree with getting rid of the deceiving part. When I saw that I seriously couldn't believe they kept that & that he automatically just fell for it. James O'Barr is also really nice in person. Got the chance to meet him awhile back, chat a bit & have some Crow related stuff autographed.

Know I'm chiming in here also like the two sequels. Would like to see an unedited version of City of Angels. Wicked Prayer was bad in every way, story acting nothing worked in it. Maybe one day we can get a James O'Barr edited version of the two sequels.

I've met James at least six times in the last ten years; he's very appreciative of his fans. Here's two custom sketches he did for me; pretty cool, huh?
