Question Quick question for Metallica fans,

Is Quebec Magnetic ~roughly as good as THIS SHOW? Thanks.

A Metallica fan will never sell his BR

I don't know about the Français pour une nuit but this one sounds much better than the Big4 concert .

#1 its BD not BR.
#2 I cannot argue with that, it was a poor decision to sell it.
I have seen them live ~10 times
[Show spoiler](first time I saw them was in 1986 when I was 16 years old.)
and Français pour une nuit would rank in the top 2 Metallica performances I have ever seen.

In my opinion... absolutely not! It does have some good stuff on it though. It's only $15 and has great picture and sound with some great performances. I didn't know that Francais Pour Une Nuit was out of print, it really blows the big 4 blu ray away in every way.

I agree that this blows the Big 4 show away. Lars' drums sounded terrible on the Big 4 show...and I'm a drummer so that really urks me.

On a side note, Lars is no Mike Portnoy or Danny Carey. His drumming style is so limited imo.

Why even make the comparison? Portions is a trained musician, went to school, and is a virtuoso. Ulrich is pretty much self taught. His skills are lacking on stage compared to the albums, but a lot of it is energy savings. He saves his stamina to last the entire show and the length of the tour, the way Hetfield saves his voice to last a tour. He does let it all hang out in the studio, and Death Magnetic is a testament to that. He was awesome on that album.

I think the Big 4 show sounds better than this one, but I seem to be alone in that, if only because the vocals are so drowned out in the Quebec show.

Wow, didn't know Nimes is OOP. It's one of their best performances, the only thing I don't like much is the fact that the intro to All Nightmare Long was a recording, I like everything to be played live. Minor complaint though.
Everything is proceeding as I have foreseen.

I've noticed they do that on some older songs as well, like Battery and Damage Inc. not sure why, perhaps they can't replicate it the same so they just play the recorded part so it fires up the crowd.

I think it's mainly so that they can switch guitars, get a drink of water, catch their breath. That sort of thing.

Nimes is OOP because of an Audio Sync issue, the 2.0 stereo track was not in sync on a lot of discs. That is from the Metclub.

I wish Francis Pour Une Nuit would go back in print. I really want to get it. Hell, I'll even take the DVD (I have the Orgulo, Pasion y Gloria DVD and it seems like the Blu is also OOP and pricey so I'm hanging on to my DVD).

I couldn't get a copy of Quebec Magnetic until today. Nobody around here had it. I was finally able to get a copy. I have a copy of Français pour une nuit and didn't even know it..LOL. Listening to the first few son's of Quebec Magnetic. Not much bottom end happening. You keep hearing a chirping, clanking sound from the guitar strings. I know from playing guitar myself you get that depending on your setup/rig.

Meijer has the Blu for $11.99 regular price. Almost bought it.
