Never mind it see the physical copy is dual cut
personally I'd love to hear the original 7.1 mix of the film since the US bluray drops the additional tracks and is only 5.1

Has anyone watched both versions (English & Norwegian) ?

Have you felt that there are takes where the actors performed better in
the English or the Norwegian version?

I watched this on Netflix last night. It was the English language, 96-minute version, and while I definitely liked it, I couldn't help thinking there seemed to be something missing. After I finished it, I looked it up online and lo and behold, Harvey Weinstein cut 20 minutes out of the U.S. release. Needless to say I now fully intend to pick up the Blu Ray (on which the visuals should look fantastic) so I can see the original Norweigian version.

As a sidenote, I have to give Disney some kudos for picking this directing team to helm Pirates of the Caribbean 5. I really do wish them well with it and hope they can bring something like this to that film.

The BD is excellent -- very high marks front to back.

I'm having a hard time deciding which version to get. Should I go the faster, low cost route with Region A, or the more expensive UK disc which has the longer cut with 7.1, and in English?

Longer cut is a must, 7.1 is a nice bonus

Both US and UK editions include the original Norwegian cut, just different English versions.
If you are interested in extras, the UK version has none, while the US has a few featurettes.

if you have a 7.1 setup go for the UK - you can always Netflix the US version to view the extras.
