Because in MY humble opinion......I thought they did a GREAT job with the color version. I RESPECT and appreciate the fans who support the original black & white version, but I ALSO support the colorized version for those who WANT it that way. The film SHOULD be offered both ways, to please a wider audience of fans.

I would love to see a bluray of both versions.
Both. I own the DVD that you are referring to. I love the MST commentary. The colorization has a pastel look that I just can't get used to. NOTLD is just one of those films that works better in B&W imo. It has a documentary feel to it that I think may actually have worked against the film had Image Ten decided to film it in color.

But it was still based on the same transfer created for the laserdisc and first DVD. The millennium disc has better encoding and a bit more post-processing for digital, but the underlying transfer is the same.

Does still no one subscribed to this thread have this http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Night-...Blu-ray/36192/ Italian release? I'm very very curious about this to a degree I can't quite understand. I do quite like the cover art but that's not it. Maybe I just enjoy this whole investigative process.

Until a inevitable release of the extended cut George A. Romero recently mentioned comes out (hopefully through Criterion, Synapse or Arrow) in both widescreen and full frame formats, the Japanese Happinet blu-ray is pretty much mandatory for blu-ray collectors, speaking as a proud owner of it myself.

I'm waiting too. I might just have to order a copy now, then double dip later on.

I've been wondering about something. How much would it cost to purchase a copyright license for this movie? I'm sure someone out there could afford it. Has Romero tried to buy it back?
