I really like the center. It's amazing how much it sounds like a full C2, which it should. Probably not the biggest upgrade I've ever made by any means, but a satisfying one for sure.

What a great looking system Intamin. However the center seems so far back from the main speakers. I take it the auto calibration fixed that for you by setting the delays correctly?

Thanks! It only sits about 12 inches behind the mains and I didn't notice any issues, but odyssey took care of the room correction so if there were any they are gone.

Picture is deceiving than. I thought it was farther back.

Yeah from front on it looks further back than it is. I decided to measure it; it's 14 inches from front of c2s to front of the center. I probably could move my stand out so they're all in line. Maybe I'll mess with that tomorrow when I play with placement some more.

Sounds like a good plan.

I played around with both toe in and depth today. From a sound perspective, it was negligible. From the aesthetics pov, I couldn't find a configuration that I liked more than how I currently have it. Looks like this will be the setup for the time being

I decided to buy 2 XPR-1s today. Not sure if they'll stay, but figured I'd try them out and take advantage of the sale while I could. I would have bought their preamp to go with it, but currently sold out. I'm excited to see if all the hype for emotiva is legit, and now having had some experience with various amps, will be nice to have a basis from which to judge.

XPR-1's very nice Alex!

Not sure how it'll compare to the higher end amps you've had but my XPA-1's don't give up anything to the mid-fi amps like Parasound Halo and Anthem that I have owned before. You'll have tons of headroom with those amps, I can only get the meters on the XPA-1's up to roughly 60% when pushing the 5.4's full range at -5 mv on my Integra.

I think the XPR series amps will also look really good in your room with all the other black gear that you've got.

Thanks Andrew! I was really considering a pair of Pass XA60.5s, but I figured I might as well start cheaper and give the emos a shot. I'm sure ill never come close to using all the power, but it never hurts to have it

They do, which I don't have. Going to use a converter for the time being; Dan over there recommended one from furman.

That's the nice thing for US residents, you can try in your home and are only out the return shipping. I'll be interested in your thoughts on the amps.

I never use all the power I have available either but it's nice not to worry about ever having your amps clip.

If they work out for you would you get another one for the center?

Yeah, that's the lucky thing for us. I already have buyers guilt, which is never a good sign haha. I just bought 2 amp stands for them. I'd consider a third for the center, but I have no idea where I'd put it. Would probably buy a new rack for my corner and place it on bottom shelf, but would buy a few other things prior to that.

At least you'll know whether you should continue to look into the higher end amps or not. I would think that alone will be worth the return shipping. I have times when looking around at gear that I wrestle with the thought of whether the really high end amps are worth it or not. Still haven't taken the plunge to find out but probably will cave one of these days.
