Jackman, Fassbander, and McAvoy are just too good. The movie is a miracle. What are the chances Stewart and McKellen would still be interested 14 years later? Jackman and Singer as well. 14 years! To not see a reboot in that span of time is pretty incredible. And it's not as if this movie was planned out meticulously like Avengers. The possibility merely presented itself and they went for it.
Well it is a fantastic comic book arc, Singer tweaked it quite a bit for the movie but it still works. Just a hair better than Guardians of the Galaxy in my book, can't wait to see what the GoTG sequel does now that they can hit the ground running. Expect to see more backstory on Groot and Rocket in the next one.

Thumbs down

2/5 from me. I wish Kitty Pryde could send my consciousness back to the past to keep me from viewing this. I was cautiously pumped for this because of Bryan Singer hopping back in the director's chair of a comic book-related movie. I'm glad I waited until this hit the 'cheap' theater in my area.

If their goal was to suck suck out all the energy First Class gave us and to clone Superman Returns with different characters, they succeeded with flying colors. How the hell did they screw this up so badly?!?!

The action scenes were amateur at best. Singer's visual style doesn't fit these types of movies at all. Haven't the studio execs learned anything by now with this guy? Even X-Men 1/2 were boring to sit through. I find his use of pacing, mixing of action and drama to be 'off' with these types of films. Hell, he did a superior job with Valkyrie in those aspects, even though everyone knew how the film ended before going into it!

The script was Thor-level bad. I didn't get into any of the characters. Xavier and Magneto were so poorly written, which is my largest complaint.

The one positive is: they corrected all the wrongs X-Men 3 gave us.

I know I'm in the minority here but /rant

That's how I feel lol. I debated it but ultimately will double dip. Shoot, I did it with the first three films multiple times. Why stop now? Lol.

I never thought anyone would have the b@lls to sell a Red Box movie, with the red box case and for $12!!! Unbelievable!
Redbox will charge you $25 to replace the movie if its not returned after 30 days. (I think) I did this intentionally with SAW VI because it was the only way to get the theatrical version. It was totally worth it!
It's showtime, folks!

I will wait for the extended edition because I didn't love this movie. The acting and story was pretty good but the action was seriously lacking. Who wants to see a movie where all your favorite heroes
[Show spoiler]get killed off without putting up a serious fight?
X-men 3 may have sucked but the action was not bad. The Wolverine would have been the perfect X-men universe movie if they didn't drop the ball with that robo Silver Samurai.

For some odd reason my theater is getting this for 1 showing this coming Friday, Saturday and Sunday. And the showing is at 10:30pm.

I just find it weird a theater would get a movie that's been out for 3 months and only have 1 late showtime for the weekend.
I have a horror script I wrote called "Truth Or Dare" It's very Scream like influenced. If interested in reading it. Please PM me.

Real fans would want both versions.

Mine is getting Chef back for like 4 showtimes. and as i said X-Men for only 1 showtime at 10:30pm. Which seems a bit odd. Mainly considering the time.
