Well fox just stated that rocky will be remastered and released next year

Thanks. But (in yet another excellent example of why citing sources is important, "joluboga") that was a Fox Germany comment about something that's "planned for next year." It's not a street date. And it's Germany. That *may* mean that we can look forward to a U.S. release thereafter. But it certainly doesn't mean that such a U.S. release will def be happening next year.

Yes but he also correctly comments underneath, that fox Germany released the Remastered Edition of Terminator. That title was made available region free in the UK on the same date as the German release.

I purchased the Remastered Edition of Terminator from amazon.uk and got it for cheaper and months earlier than if I had waited for Amazon.com's identical North American release.

I understand your general point but, if by "he" you're referring to the member ("akijama") who made the original post in the other linked thread, you're misstating what he said. He didn't say "[F]ox Germany released the [r]emastered [e]dition of Terminator." He said Fox Germany was the first to report on it. For ready reference, here is what he said:

Quote:
In case you were wondering, what German edition has to do with North America section, mind you, the German Fox and blu-ray-disc.de were among the first who reported on remastered edition of Fox/MGM's The Terminator last year Besides, there's not a snowball's chance in hell that Fox would spend big bucks on remaster of the classic of this magnitude and then put the blu out in Germany/Europe only [bold mine]
And FWIW I tend to disagree with his "snowball's chance in hell" speculation. The catalog situation is so odd right now, in general, and the studios are seeing greater sales of catalog titles in countries other than the U.S., in particular. The release of Ahnuld first elsewhere may or very well may not be indicative of U.S. release of Rocko. Stranger things have happened. I just spun the Quiz Show BD tonight, currently only available in Oz. Although this is a Disney title not MGM-via-Fox, they've released this title to basically four markets in one country: Perth, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. There are more people in California than there are the continent of Australia, yet Disney released it there first. I'm not necessarily holding my breath for a U.S. BD release (of a title that was only available on non-anamorphic DVD for some 15 years). My point being that if "magnitude"--critically or in terms of b.o.--was always determinative, we wouldn't be seeing these titles released in non-U.S. markets first IMO . . . and Bad Boys II would be on BD.

This is currently selling north of $50 now on Amazon and EBay. I just picked it up a few months ago for $20 during the last Amazon sale.

Anyone else planning on picking up the Rocky 4K remaster and just swapping out the disc in this collection?

No because it's only costing me 17 cents to upgrade from the old box set to the new one.

Are we certain that all special features plus the bonus disc from the undisputed collection will be ported over to the heavyweight collection

Default Rocky: The Undisputed Collection - November 3rd 2009

According to the foxconnect spec list there's nothing missing and nothing new either.

Wal-mart lists them all to.

I actually made a $3.42 profit by selling my old set and buying the new one .
