Not totally enthused for UHD, but this title will be a nice test to see how much of a difference it really makes. With realistic mid-seventies colors and Gil Taylor's soft, romantic focus - If this title can look significantly better in the UHD format than the already pretty solid Blu, they may be on to something.

We'll see.

Color me intrigued. I could totally go for this. I wonder how it'll compare with the existing release...

You might want to change the title of this thread Akijama.
The Omen is NOT coming on UHD but only on Blu-ray!

Visually I'm sure it will be fine, but...
For me I wonder how FOX (being as cheap as they are) will handle the sound?
The film was original released in MONO, but since the days of CBS/FOX VIDEO was one of the first titles to be released on home video in fake stereo. Back then they didn't even make use of separate elements (Music, Dialog, Effects) they just ran the sound through a box that kinda gave a wider presence nothing more.
The Blu is better than that but not buy much. The ORIGINAL MONO should be included, but if they're going to include a 5.1 or higher mix I hope they do this re-mastering justice.
There are of course stereo mixes of Jerry Goldsmith's score at the very least.
The sequel DAMIEN also could use a new re-mix, since that to was ORIGIANLLY MONO and sound terrible currently. (I was told year ago by a friend at FOX it there was a 4-track mix but it gone now.
While THE FINAL CONFLICT has 2 variant mixes, both which are on the blu currently. There might be a 3rd, from what I was told.

Suits me fine. I have no plans to go UHD, but was wondering if the BD in the combo would be from the remaster.

It's a classic horror, with top tier actors and a fantastic soundtrack.

While I agree with Alex about its "classic" status, I'd hasten to add that it's plenty silly. "Silly" as it was understood in the context of 1970s cinema, which means it treats its subject with utter seriousness, yet has a goofy underlying concept or something.

It was even included in the 1978 book The Fifty Worst Films of All Time. So was Alfredo Garcia though, so take that with some salt.

While the authors are mostly on-point with their criticisms, I always have a very difficult time not getting caught up in the proceedings. Peck is (mostly) nicely understated, and of course Goldsmith's score is remarkable. Some nice photography and production design too.

And if creepy nannies are your thing, it's must-see entertainment.

The 1970s is my favourite cinematic period, and I love a lot of it's cinema for the reason that you stated

Including Alfredo Garcia in that book instantly makes said book null and void, IMO.

While the The Omen is a classic, anybody remember another Anti-Christ film Fear No Evil (1981) ? I haven't seen that film since I saw at a Grindhouse Theater when it was released.

Just hope the 4K remaster has everything included from the single release/Omen Collection in terms of bonus features and content. Maybe this time have the original cinematic track be lossless?
Already have the US Omen Collection in a 4-Disc stacking hub Viva Elite case, which I got the weird G1 DVD sized Custom packaging with the horrendous disc holders for $9.99 last year. Guess I'd swap the first disc or leave the upcoming release in its own case.

The increasing number of 4K titles coming out from 20th Century Fox gives me hope for Die Hard 1-3, a new Butch Cassidy, maybe Carrie, and plenty of others. Plus, of course, The Omen itself.
