There isn't anything to do with 3d in this commercial, it's just using the ancient tagline of the picture is so good you feel like you're there. Companies have been saying this since at least the 80's.
Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate Leads to suffering...

Imagine if a TV maker had the balls to put 3D back into a 4K TV for 2018...

3D needs to be re-launched on 4K sets and marketed as 'better than ever'.

Where technology is concerned, nothing is really dead if it can be improved.

Microsoft just pulled a surprise move by adding original Xbox games (!) to Xbox one.

You can now play three generations of Xbox games on Xbox One (with enhancements).

That's the power of technology to bring value and exciting features to delighted customers.

Meanwhile, movie studios and TV makers basically give paying customers The Finger.

They produce movies in 3D but refuse to let us buy them and decide overnight to not make 3D TVs after millions of people bought countless thousands of 3D discs.

It certainly looks like the person in front is putting on 3D glasses! Everyone should comment on this video saying that they expect this TV to be able to do 3D.

Unless I missed something it appears that the TV is indeed a 3D TV.
OK, I just went to Vizios site and they still have 2017 models listed and not one of them supports 3D. I think what they are saying is that their XLED is so life-like that it is like watching 3D.

If I just saw this commercial without running across this thread, I would not get 3D from it.

Vizio was one of the first to drop 3-D; if anyone brings it back in a future model it won't be them. LG is still the most likely candidate to do so, at some point. Might not be next year, but I'm hopeful they will eventually once we see demand for 3-D spiking again when the earlier-generation 3-D models start dying.
LG OLED65E6P, Oppo UDP-203 & Denon AVR-X7200WA.

She puts on glasses and then the picture emerges from the screen. Not hard to see why this might be confused for 3D.

I would say it verges on false advertising. It creates the impression of 3D without making any specific promises.

Companies need to stop misleading the public. No matter how bright the screen, no matter how crisp the detail, no matter how vivid the colours, a monoscopic image does not become stereoscopic. It's a separate feature that can be built in.

Anybody wanna go in on a lawsuit? They've been filed over far sillier things than this (remember the one about the widescreen descriptions on some MGM DVDs being misleading?)

So I guess it's too much trouble to wear 3D glasses while watching a 3D movie, but it's perfectly fine to put goggles on just for fun.
