I don't keep up with current WWE on the regular, but I have been picking up these Best of PPV sets. So far even if I don't like half the matches, there is enough that I do like to warrant the purchase.

I'm sure this has been complained about before, but I don't understand why they release this in December when Survivor Series and TLC are still out there. Last year's "Best Of" could have included Punk/ADR and Punk/Miz/ADR.

I mean, it's not even released before Christmas, so that rules out that thought.


Hoping for the following matches:

Smackdown Elimination Chamber match
Bryan vs Sheamus (Extreme Rules)
Punk vs Jericho (Extreme Rules)
Sheamus vs Big Show (HIAC) - the last 5 mins totally made the match, imo. Much better than I thought it could be.
Smackdown MITB
Punk/Cena/Big Show (SS)
HHH/Lesnar (SS)
Punk vs Cena (NOC)
Orton vs Ziggler (NOC)
Jericho vs Ziggler (SS)
Fatal Fourway (OTL)
Bryan vs Punk (OTL) - I doubt they'll list this since it's on the Punk dvd.

I'm sure Ziggler vs Punk (Rumble) will make the cut. I don't need it because i already own the blu.


I can understand why Rock/Cena is listed, but I really didn't think this match was that great. Average at best.

The original release of the 2009-2010 PPV Matches, with the exception of maybe 1 or 2 matches, the rest were chosen because they really were some of the best matches. Then last year's release seemed to be more about the stars' matches vs. actually high quality matches. With those 2 WrestleMania 28 matches on the cover, plus Sheamus and Big Show being featured on it, I feel like it's gonna be that same direction again with this release. No one can honestly say Rock vs. Cena was a good match at all. If they wouldn't have tried to copy Hogan vs. Rock with the starring crap, it might have been a good story at least, but it was just an attempt to copy something similar done in the past.

Yep.

Pretty good list, but some questionable choices.
Jericho/Punk (Extreme Rules), Jericho/Ziggler (SS) and the fatal fourway from Over The Limit should have made the cut.

These matches have no business being in this list, imo:
Punk vs Ryback
Cena vs Kane
Layla vs. Beth Phoenix
Rock vs. John Cena

I can understand why they would want to include Punk/Ryback and Cena/Rock, but still, other matches were better, in my opinion.

I'm seriously considering picking this one up and it will my first Best Of PPV Matches purchase. To those who own the ones from the previous years, do they include the buildup videos that traditionally gets played before the matches get underway from the actual PPV shows? Thanks in advance.

I normally would get this but I own Royal Rumble , WM 28 , Summerslam , and Survivor Series on blu ray. Also two of the best matches of the year (Cena /Brock , Punk /DBryan) are on their doc discs. So that leaves eleven decent matches , but I really wanted Jerico/Punk at Extreme Rules. Ah well.
Also theres a MITB compilation coming out next year, so that strikes another off the list.


I do have a gripe about the exclusion of the TLC ppv. They could at least fit a match or two from the prior year. I thought ADR/Mix/Punk was a fun match last year. Now we have Ryback and Hell No vs. The Shield which probably won't make Best of 2013.

I really enjoyed Punk/ADR/Miz's TLC match from last year and I was very surprised with Shield vs Kane/Bryan/Ryback. Both of those matches deserve to be on "Best Of' dvds for sure.
