What other movies on BD are you referring to with the same problem ? Would it be Men in Black on BD or The Mask on BD or Wild Wild West on BD, or The Terminator on BD with a really bad picture quality ?

All of that is on one disc and it only plays up to 480i ? I thought that Blu-ray was supposed to play movies up to 1080i and 1080P ?

Blu-ray supports resolution up to 1920x1080 24f. You can have video presented at 480i, 480p, 576i, 576p, 720i, 720p, and 1080p.

Highlander: Season 1 is 720p.

Don't Be A Menace To South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood is 1080i.

Most video supplementary material is from archival elements and made for DVD or Laserdisc and as such are 480i/p only.

If you really have your heart set on the US release:

In stock for shipping at Best Buy

In stock for shipping at Amazon

Two fer with Aeon Flux which is a better value at Wal-mart

Or, and I'll keep repeating this, just buy the German Double Feature import with better video and lossless audio. Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life are each housed on their own discs.

The ones listed on the Amazon and Best Buy websites are not the 2013 BD release, they are only the BD releases of it from 2008 and from 2012. As for the German Double Feature, i am not interested in that one.

Click on the link for Amazon, it specifically says (2013) next to the title. I also do not understand why you want the 2013 release since the only difference is either a Distributed by Warner Home Video UPC sticker or the title over the UPC has been replaced by "Distributed by Warner Home Video."

The actual disc will still have the old disc art from 2006 and a 2006 copyright. Nothing on the actual disc will say Warner Home Video, 2012, or 2013 on it because it is the same disc from 2006.

I thought that the 2013 BD release of it would have a better picture quality. I thought it was supposed to be digitally remastered, like the digitally remastered BD release of The Terminator that was released last month.

Nope. Warner is just handling the distribution for over 600 Paramount properties. Paramount still provides the assets needed to create these releases just like the Fox/Anchor Bay, Disney/Mill Creek, and Sony/Twilight Time distribution deals.

Does anyone know why Amazon UK lists Lara Croft: Tomb Raider as "Uncut Edition"? Is it a different version than the US/German, etc?

UK DVD and VHS were censored to get a lower certificate by the BBFC. The Blu-ray is the unaltered version of the film which is the same cut as the US and German ones.

Thanks! Damn, thought I might've stumbled upon something.
I just bought and watched the German 2-pak - much better PQ & AQ compared to my U.S. copy.
