I am a big Sony supporter but I see nothing in their 2013 HDTV lineup that would make me want to upgrade and besides I just bought my HX750 back in September of last year and it's only 4 months old and kicking ass! I just would like to know when Sony decided to go passive 3D with some of their new sets? I mean Sony was a stricked Active 3D supporter and now they are useing Passive as well? To me I think their 2013 sets are a step back and I am sure the competition has taken notice. The only 2013 Sony tv I would be interested in is the 4K model but at the price they are asking for it there is no way I would spend that kind of money.

Tower Speakers: Klipsch SF12.
Surrounds: Sony Satellite Speakers.
Subwoofer: Polk Audio PSW 10.
Xfinity HD.

A few observations. The non detachable speakers on the 4K X900A will put off a lot of enthusiasts who already have top notch audio systems. Then again, this is a Sony trend dating back to at least the legendary XBR8. Otherwise, the "barely there" bezels of the rest of the lineup look like a page right out of Samsung's book. Additionally, LED edge lighting across the line will ruffle some feathers, but it appears that Sony has released its last LED full array backlit set in the HX950.

The chunky R450 is full array but I doubt it has any local dimming.

I'm also not a fan of matte or anti glare coatings......I'm more of a glossy man.

Does anyone know if any of the models have a pure gloss finish like the Hx850 had?

If all of them are matte or have anti glare coatings I'm not that interested.

<shakes head>

I swear I don't get some of Sony's decisions. Why on earth do they offer a 60+" on their top model but not on so many of the other models? Plus, NO full array backlit LED's?? PASSIVE 3D? Strange indeed!

I've been looking for my first 50"+ TV ever for my new house and came across the Sony R550 today on sale;

Can't really find any reviews on this TV and I'm wondering what you guys think. Thanks.

The reviews on Bestbuy.com seem good and it looks to be a good deal so why not go for it and give it a try? If your not happy BB has a good return policy. Sonys 2013 tv lineup seems to be a hit and miss thing this year.

Just bought this for under a grand at Best Buy! I priced matched with the insane price The Brick had it on for. It replaced my 3 year old Panasonic Plasma. I wasn't expecting much, but it's actually an excellent TV. good picture, good 3D. Very happy. still need to adjust the picture settings to my liking.

I have the 60inch R550, I'm very happy with it. I can't comment on the 3D as I don't have any 3D movies.

High priced for a edge lit display, but it looked very good at CES. I plan on including this model in our 2013 Shootout Evaluation event.

Just picked up the 47w802a for the master bedroom. I am not impressed. I have the hx850 and absolutely love it. I tried playing with the settings on the 802 and could not find anything I could be happy with. I am a Sony guy and would hate to have to return it for a Samsung. Anyone have any experience with the 802 and gotten a decent picture. I haven't tried a blu ray yet but the HD cable channels are very bright, blurry and not much detail.

My advise rallymonkey is to hold onto your HX850 (awesome tv...I know I have one!) pass on the W802 and forget about Samsung! Keep your HX850 as your main tv. Sorry but I am little biased when it comes to the HX850.

Question Bravia Z4500 Sharpness PROBLEM

Hi Guys !
Sorry in advance if this isn't the place to speak about this but... i've been having a LOT of problems with my Bravia z4500 lately.
You may know that when the sharpness is set to "min", it's not really 0... The panel still adds a slight edge enhancement, but it's pretty significant (causing a very annoying "blinking" effect in videogames mostly).
Did any of you find a solution to get rid of ANY edge enhancement on that series ?
I tried everything, even the "photo" mode, which does reduce the sharpness a little, does not an enough job for my taste !
Thanks in advance, but please... HELP ME !
