you pay online then wait for the email confirmation that it's ready for pick-up at the store you selected. just bring a copy of that email and an i.d. to customer service and they'll get it for you.

You purchase it online through credit card/debit card/paypal and select that you want to pick it up in-store. Once you do that, you will get an email telling you what you need to bring to the store; this is normally your order #, the credit card you purchased the item with, and a photo i.d. Once you've got that, just go to the store and go to their "In Store Pickup Dept", which is normally located near their customer service line. You should see a banner or sign.

Depending on the quality of your Best Buy, sometimes in-store pick up means that you show up and you wait at the desk while someone wanders the store to try to find the thing that they claim they already pulled for you.

But as the others said, you fill in your payment information online, but you need to bring your credit card, your ID, and the email/order number.

If you select it online at the time of purchase, you can have someone else pick up the order-- they only need their ID and the order number.

I believe they put a temp hold on the funds and the actual transaction goes through when you pick up the order and they finalize it.

Sounds the same as Wal-Mart's site to store program. With the exception that I enjoy going into a BB more than I do a Wally's.
