So I watched this twice tonight on FX. Been over a year since I had watched it.

It's one of my favorite zombie flicks...

Just the only part of the movie where I couldn't suspend my disbelief...

So Gerry is confirmed alive by Thierry at the WHO in Cardiff. He has a plan but it's blocked by a building full of zombies.

Could he not have called Thierry to call in and bring in a squad of troops to clear out the area? I know they had to make it dramatic... but I mean Thierry could have called a team at will to go clear it out. They weren't on any particular time deadline. Navy could have flew in 5-10 troops fully armed and loaded to clear out that WHO building. Cardiff didn't look like it had zombies running all in the streets so it could have been done quietly.

And the other part obviously is the incompetence of the Israeli forces. It appeared as if they were only monitoring the inside of the wall, when they could have taken a quick helicopter flight around to see there were hoards of zombies piling up. I mean they were smart enough to build the wall, but not keep major surveillance around the perimeter... eh.

And again that WHO building. They had cameras everywhere she could call the phone in the vault, but they couldn't call phones elsewhere around B-Wing to distract the zombies to allow Gerry and Co. to sneak around safely.

I would attribute that to scarce resources. The Navy flotilla is around 100 miles somewhere in the Atlantic. It would have been really hard to send some troops somewhere in Wales. However overall it's a good movie.

Eh. I mean they used ONE helicopter just to fly Gerry's family and Tomas to Nova Scotia, when they were in the Bermuda area. That's a lot of fuel to waste to take one family from the aircraft carrier in Bermuda Islands to Nova Scotia.

They had the plane fly from the carrier when it was off the coast of New York all the way to South Korea... so you can't tell me with all the military bases around the world that they couldn't have coordinated one group of soldiers to fly in to Cardiff which looked not as ravaged as the rest of the world.

And again don't get me wrong it's a fantastic movie. It has a lot of replay value and a lot of suspense. Zombie movie done properly.

He's not wrong though. This movie was terrible. It completely lost me at the "lets rape the woman in the grocery store when she's with her able bodied husband and children, with dozens of people around, before the zombies even show up."

That was REALLY weird, and didn't make much sense at all.

I blind bought it and liked it. I'm not a zombie fan but this one was entertaining for me. I don't have a physical copy anymore but hung onto the UV.

I watched it when it first came out and enjoyed it. I own it but I haven't gotten around to watching it again. I'll rectify that with a zombie movie marathon in the near future.

Yeah. I love the 3d version too. I am hard pressed to really notice the difference with the 2d uncut though.

I'm one of those who really didn't like the book though. I found it pretty boring and just all over the place and in no way film able as a movie. You could make the book a TV anthology series But it fortunately wasn't attempted to be turned in the movie. I was told by several friends who like Zombie movies like me that the book was great. After reading so many other fantastic Zombie books and series like Zombie Fallout, I could not understand the fuss on the book.

I loved a 'Good' Zombie film, but i find TWD so boring i want to bang my head against the wall, basically i'd just stick to watching the first and last episode of each season as that's the only time things get interesting

I didn't like WWZ overall, it had some good action set pieces but the fact it's so bloodless and hardly any gore really cripples it in my opinon. And when people were laughing in the cinema at the zombies in the last 3rd instead of being creeped out or scared, then you know you've lost the audience.

For me the best Zombie movie i have seen so far is Dawn of the Dead 2009 remake.
