Not sure if other people have noticed this about the PQ, but last night I noticed that in every new scene in the movie, the picture would be 720p quality maybe and then a half a second later adjust itself to 1080p. Now I will be testing this out on other blu-ray players to see if anything is different. Surely a minor gripe but I guess I can live with it.

@VW Driver--that effect is due to the original editing techniques of Cinemascope, not anything about the disc. I used to notice that effect on dvds of certain older films all the time and it drove me crazy, but that's just the way it is. I used to refer to it as the "leader in blurriness" or some such stupid phrase.
(once you've noticed it get ready to notice it more often in the future; you can see it in action on An Affair To Remember bd also, and many other scope films of the era) . Last edited by Arkadin; 03-09-2013 at 10:33 PM. |
