Ive seen some items named as Bluray Transporters,

what exactly are they?

It's just a poorly written synopsis of the Player. Whomever wrote these (and I suspect it was someone at Denon UK) used the word Transporter to refer to the process of sending the video/audio to the tv or receiver. This is nothing special. (And on a side note, those players were over priced (IMO) considering they didn't include 3D playback)

Blu-ray transports usually lack analog outs and the ability to internal decode and process lossless audio (and video). At least they did four years ago but I haven't seen much in new transports laterly.
