I am not sure if the 'cinema' setting does what it says on the Vizio, I suspect the other option you have tried is 'standard'? Last edited by Tech-UK; 01-04-2013 at 03:43 PM. |

Unless I read the manual wrong doesn't the resolution need to be set to Auto in order for the 24p to work?

I have the Pioneer Elite BDP-23FD. That can output 24p right? I know if I am watching bluray and set the bd player to 'Source Direct' it can output the native source of 1080p/24. But what if I am watching dvd, is there a way to upconvert it and put put it to 24p?

24p equates to 1080p24 content, i.e. Blu-ray as you said. I believe the Oppo can output DVD at 24 frames per second, but not the Pioneer (not 100% sure). If you set the 23fd to output 1080, it will output at either 50 or 60Hz. Source Direct will take whats encoded and output it to your display, thus no convertion happens within the player (although 720p24 is converted to 720p/60). Just an update.. I'm loving this Blu-Ray player. 24p is working great and I'm actually even using this to stream Netflix instead of my HTPC. The only drawback so far is the limited apps. I've always used Slacker on my Blu-Ray player as the interface is better and you can skip tracks with the remote, I'm really missing that option but it's a small price to pay.
