It makes you wonder what these reviewers are seeing that we are not....I watched Priest last week and i would give the 3D a solid 3.5 out of 5.... No way it deserves a 1.5. Captain America got a 2.5 That was a great conversion.

I agree. Read about the conversion being no good but I fail to see much fault with it,if any.... loved it!

Am watching this one again, possibly for the 5th or so time. I obviously really enjoy this movie and the 3D is terribly underrated on this.

It's a good vampire flick and if you don't take it too seriously it is quite good.

I Wish I could say more but that really covers it.

It really wasn't. The 3d was tacked on and didn't add to the film. Sure if you are a 3D buff you may enjoy the option. But everyone else will walk away wondering why they paid the premium.

I agree, this is underrated for the 3D, as it's a medium to high medium conversion, though it does have near the end desert train scene, some more mild 3D that crops up, and a few unconverted 3D shots that are flat 2D probably due to time constraints. The 3D layering looks pretty good, and the movie is entertaining.

Paul Bettany (Priest married to Jennifer Connelly) also is the voice of Iron Man's computer in the new Avengers Age of Ultron movie from what I read. Not Ultron himself, played by James Spader.

The movie didn't do very well in US theaters and left theaters shortly due to the tough summer competition. Had the 3D been mild from start to finish, then I'd say it was tacked on but what is here is worth watching for fans of 3D layering. The ash falling from the sky in the shot where Karl Urban is standing in the night streets is in the strong 3D range.
This is noticeably better than Smurfs 3D, Green Lantern 3D, Clash of the Titans 3D, etc.

I've watched this movie many times. I really like the world, the different take on vamps and think the 3D is at least ok. Love those bikes too. Over all I think it is a very good movie, for my tastes.

My only complaint is I cant seem to get the movie to look great. From scene to scene it is either too dark or too bright. I've resigned that it is a product of the setting, wasteland would be supper bright and vamps love the dark. I wish they would have toned it down a bit though. Maybe my HD66/screen just doesn't have enough contrast to pull it off.

The bikes were cool, but underplayed. They could have had more action scenes with them.

The 3D in the first 3/4 is mostly medium to high medium 3D; very good. The final act disappoints with the 3D, but otherwise, there are even some strong 3D shots in Priest 3D, especially with the particle effects as Karl Urban stretches out his arms after his train attack on the town at night.

It was a neat take on vampires, being mostly blind monsters with fangs. The end called for a sequel, but it released in theaters during heavy summer competition.

I have always believed that Preist 3D is under rated. It's good to read some positive reaction to the movie. Paul Bellamy was badass as the preist. Love the cross tattoo on his face. The demons are visually captivating.

Problem is the movie is so short yet has so much to set up, build a big futuristic world and convey everything that has led to it being like this and loads of backstory. It's just too much for such a short movie.
It is by my hand that you will rise from the ashes of this world!!!

I felt the pacing hit the key plot points well, since it was mainly a rescue mission to save the girl.

I would still love to see a sequel to this. The 3d for this movie was excellent and I thought the vampire creature design was very creepy and evocative. The movie also made me think too and I love the questions it raises. I thought the movie was intellectually and philosophicaly stimulating lol. One of my favorite lines from Karl Urban's character was something to do with sin and I forgot it now lol

I was hoping for a sequel, but the ticket sales said no.
The movie brings up the concern with the Church becoming the State, resulting in an inquisition to anyone who opposed. And the automation in the confession booth where a computerized simulation gives calculated responses to Paul Bettany as Priest. The Ruler played by Chris Plummer, reminds me of John Hurt's role of corrupted power in V for Vendetta.

Not sure what line it was. What part of the movie?

Slight Spoilers:
I still wish they showed the part where Karl Urban's character eliminates those martial art monks in the town at night. That would have been a cool action scene.

Also wish they revealed more of the Queen Vampire. In the show The Strain, the Master Vampire is shown more often as the series goes on, though a movie has less time to build up.
