Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance 3D BD June 12

As an alternative view, I had seen the critics pan this so my expectations were set to LOW....however, loved it...much better and darker than the first. Loved the camerawork and edits in the Crank style.
As for the 3D, I cant comment on other peoples set ups but for me this is the best converted 3D movie I have seen. It was done brilliantly and in some scenes actually looked native.

Pre-ordered this blind from Best Buy and picked up the first movie, which I hadn't seen, at the same time for $5 during the U&S deal.

Watched the first movie on Friday night. Didn't think it was too bad. Bit cheesy at times but watchable and I quite enjoyed it.

Watched Spirit of Vengeance last night and have to say, it was awful. Acting was so bad, didn't like where they took the character (never read the comic book so I have no idea if that's how he was). I actually starting dozing off a few times because the movie just wasn't holding my attention.

As for the 3D, I thought it had some pretty good depth throughout most of the movie, although at some points, it didn't seem as strong. Kind of sorry I spent $25 on it....you live and learn, I guess.

I bought this Friday night, unimpressed. The story was boring and the 3D was mediocre at best. I paid 29.99 for it, would have felt better paying around 10.00.

Note to Hollywood, never try and convert a movie that was team directed by one of the guys that made Crank. Those moving camera angles are just too damn tough. Good job taking a stab at it.

P.S. There was a trailer for the new Spiderman flick on this Blu-ray, enjoyed that more than the movie.

Ok so Spirit of Vengeance hasnt hit the "blockbuster" mark with most...I admit I was somewhat aprehensive when I read all the bad feedback being posted about the movie, its acting and its 3d (however I had blind bought/pre-ordered) and was somewhat drawn to see if it was as bad as predicted (did the same with John (yawn fest) Carter) but in some ways I really enjoyed the flick for what it was....all the while acknowledging that it could have been way better!

Yes...the acting is average, the 3d mediocre and the story predictable - but then that could be said about most movies these days...however if you do what I did and view the extra's, giving the background on the movie and it's trials/challenges (going to shoot without any gear???) you soon realise what the movie is trying to portray..it's not a sequel by any stretch (even the directors state it's a re-invention - again like so many other movies these days)

You'll see how Cage became more than just an actor in the movie and how much more "acting" was in this movie compared to the first....after going through the extra's i have a whole new outlook on the movie....still it's not great, but I think I appreciate where they were heading with Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance...I hope there's another GR in the pipeline...

Well it really is not as bad as people say it is. Ghost Rider's skull looks way better in this one. The script is not the best yes but it does entertain and that is the main thing for a movie like this.

The 3D is actually not bad either its crystal clear only crosstalk spotted was the same plays the reviewer on this site said but its very minimal and hardly noticeable. The depth in some scenes look really good then there is some scenes that look flat though its a 60/40 with depth on this one

Some say there is no pop outs on it. That is not true. There is some very cool pop outs on this 5-6 pop out scenes (yeah still not so much but it could be worse)
Love the glass shattering from the crane,Blackburn's victim remains also goes through the screen so does 3-4 of Ghost Riders kills.

Would rate the 3D 3.5 but going towards 4.0 imo.

For a cheap price its a great purchase

AQ is very good to 4.5

Extras there is a making of feature in 6 parts that covers everything its about 90 min in length. Excellent making of documentary

For some reason I bought this. To me it had the weakest 3D transfer of any 3D BD that I have seen. Almost no depth nor pop outs. The disc was marked 3D but I wonder if it was mislabeled.

im one of the ones who liked this ALOT better than the first, im sorry but the first one sucked.... and u must have a bad tv if u cant see 3d in this movie i just watched some of it again and it has great pop out during the action sequences love the crane battle, and seeing the flames pop out at you, i am down for a 3rd movie

I read this entire thread and nobody would answer this: does the 3d version come with a regular blu-ray disc/version or are the two discs just 3d movie and bonus features?

My copy (Uk Version) is a single 3D/2d Blu and a DVD.

The US release is two Blu-Rays - one 3D and the other 2D - check the review:
