most problems that cause U73 errors a corrected by replacing the HDMI cable, or if you have a switch, eliminating the switch from what I've seen

The version only relates to the HDMI chipset/sink, it does not relate to the cable, which come in two main flavors; Standard Speed and High Speed. You need to purchase a High Speed certified cable. Which those Amazon ones are .

HDMI versions do not equate to the cable, as so many retailers etc, seem to include in their listings. Cat 1 (Standard Speed) and Cat 2 (High Speed) are the two main types of cable used. Saying its equivalent to 1.4 is just as misleading.

that was why i didn't say it was 1.4......HDMI 1.4 supports ethernet as did the cables i suggested..cat 1 and cat 2 aren't specific enough to say they have ethernet capability. Cat 1 and Cat 2 support different resolutions, Cat 2 is required for 4K resolution while Cat 1 will not work with 4K. The cables i suggested are Cat2(High speed) with ethernet, which satifies the requirements for HDMI 1.4

I understand what your saying. The OP's equipment all have 1.3/(a) chipsets, thus a High Speed cert cable is sufficient. HS cables are sufficient for 1.4 chipsets, how many manufactures actually supports the HEC feature (which is optional anyway). ARC yes, but that doesn't require the cable to pass any additional testing.
