Hi,
I was wondering if I have a Disney Disc of Toy Story 3 in 3D and play it in my player (Panasonic BTP220 3D) what should happen when connected to a regular TV instead of a 3D TV? I have the player set up to ask to view the Disc in 3D or Regular 2D When I select regular 2D the Disney Castle logo shows and then I get a menu. At the menu I select ENGLISH and the I get a message saying the disc wont play and I need a 3D Player AND 3D TV. I thought all 3D movies can be played in 2D ? or are there some Exceptions? |

As you just discovered, some 3D discs are locked to only play in 3D-enabled devices. And when it looks for 3D-enabled devices, both the Blu-Ray Player and TV must be 3D capable, regardless of any extra settings. If one device is not 3D-capable, the disc refuses to play and displays a screen stating it's only playable in 3D equipment.
