I have and LOVE part 1, but after reading what part 2 is about....I think I'll pass.

For me, the strength of the first one was that she was
[Show spoiler]never really possessed, but just mentally disturbed from the sexual abuse.

So, in the second one, to actually have her
[Show spoiler]REALLY possessed
kinda ruins the whole concept for me.

I liked the first film but never got around to seeing this one. Seems more like a redbox rental rather than a purchase my expectations are not very high though

[Show spoiler]Is there a source saying that she in fact WAS NOT possessed in the film? My understanding was that she was indeed mentally disturbed but possessed at the same time. The twisting and contorting of her body, the waking in the middle of the night and slaughtering animals, and the "demon baby" at the end are indicators, IMO, that there is indeed a supernatural element to the film that goes far beyond just relying on the psychology of it all. I remember reading something where Eli Roth mentioned that she WAS indeed possessed in the film but they went to great lengths to make it seems like she wasn't, and that it was all psychological. That they focused heavily on not giving it away and having her do some of the more unhuman things you see in other possession films. For example, the posters for The Last Exorcism, one showed her all curled up in the corner of a ceiling, high up on the wall but you never see anything extreme like that in the film.

This film was absolutely terrible. Absolutely nothing happens at all in the 85 minutes.
[Show spoiler]The demon looked like herself in a black hoodie and plastic mask? Soooo scary and original.
The $5M budget is way too high. The film is filled with Z-list actors and non-existent scares. Where did that budget go? Are CGI fires that expensive now?

As someone who really enjoyed the 1st one,it really sucks that the 2nd was pretty much a major let down. The 2nd had a couple of moments I liked.I'm now debating if I want to keep it or trade it in.

Absolutely loved the first film, but skipped this in theaters because I thought the trailer pretty much spoke for itself. Maybe it's best I just pretend this doesn't exist at all, because I hold the original in very high regard.

I can't understand all the hate for this movie.

I've just finished watching it and absolutely loved it.

A great continuation from the original.

While it's not perfect, it's still a moody, unsettling and creepy film.

If you liked the first one, give this a chance and see it with an open mind.

The reviewer was way off the mark and there's too many sheep who aren't smart enough to form their own opinion.

Meh. Kinda boring but the ending was neat. The first was way better. At least that was great until the terrible ending.
