Only to very close friends who I trust will return it and who I know will take care of it. Never to colleagues or acquaintances as I know it will never get returned and I'll lose track of it (and possibly them).

Yeah, I sometimes loan out the dvd's that come with the blu's. I wouldn't loan my Blu's to some of my friends as I know how well they take care of things.

Some of my more responsible friends I could do it though.

Even when loaning a blu to my mother who lives in the apartment upstairs it goes in a spare case with no artwork, usually if theres also a dvd copy she will borrow that one. People don't understand collecting the slipcover sand things of that nature.

No. But, I give my dvd copy's of combo packs away to friends, coworkers, or anyone who cares about a certain movie but isn't a movie geek like myself.

One of the reasons why I don't lend out my collection to anyone. No one values your belongings more than you.

I'm sure your relatives won't mind letting you borrow their credit card after all it's only a "piece of plastic".

my rule of thumb:

Never loan ANYTHING that you can't afford to lose.
