United Kingdom 14 Blades (Gam yee wai)

Release by Icon Home Entertainment UK

Release Date: July 19, 2010

No idea if it will share the heavily DNR'd and EE'd master as the HK version. Just as a note, it is actually cheaper than the DVD version, so kudos to Icon. Subs have a good chance of being forced, but CIH friendly. Probably Mandarin/Cantonese DTS-HD MA 5.1. Region status is up in the air as Icon's releases can be Free or B locked.

Well thank God for that, I was worried that those Cine Asia tossers would get it. As you say, hopefully better than the HK version PQ wise and with decent subtitles as well.

Are these Asian films usually Region-B locked in the UK? Any info? I would definitely buy it if it's region-free.

PQ is only slightly better than the HK/CHN version. It is still heavily processed, with EE and DNR. Subtitles are forced, and I am pretty sure they are actually burned-into the print, but I will check again tomorrow to confirm. It is Region B locked.

I thought Icon would have done a decent job with this, but I'm dismayed at how shit it is. Can nobody handle foreign movies properly in the f**king UK? Between this and Black Lighting recently, I'm getting f**ked off!

Does anybody know why the Hong Kong version is longer than the UK version? The listings on here say that the HK one is 120mins and the UK version is 108mins.
