Thanks!
Too bad there is only an english track...
it's weird to hear Delon with another voice, since i have only ever watched the french version...
at least, since the film has been shot in english, we can hear the original dialogue, and not a translation.

If it's region free, i'll buy it anyway, cause it's been too long since i last saw this great movie, and who knows when and if , a french version will be release.

so, when there is no region info on a disc, that always means it's region free?
if that so i'll order immediatly.

Trust me, his Italian voice is fantastic. I must do a bit of research to know the name of the actor who dubbed him.

Here's some screenshots from the original BLuray:

maybe it's a bit too red?

and again, how are we sure that his English voice is dubbed? Does it say it anywhere officially?

Trust me , i'am french, and i know Delon's voice, and i can assure you that it's not his voice in the english version..
it's only on the french dubbed version.

and for the region can anyone assure me if it's region free or blocked in region A?
Please , i really need to know for sure, cause i can't wait to order it, but i don't want to receive a disk i would not be able to watch..

Very Dark transfer is general that looks good in the day scenes, but severe black crush during the night scenes. Think Last of the Mohicans. The day scenes are overly saturated and it looks as if the disc was prepped with enhanced black levels to make the picture pop a bit more. I had to set the gamma up 3 levels from it's normal setting to actually see what was going on in the night time scenes.

The transfer isn't the best either and I can't imagine much of an upgrade from the dvd. This was probably taken from a theatrical print not in the best of shape. Resolution is limited all around.

An excellent film though and the 1st time I had seen it since the 70's on TV unedited! Also the 1st time I have seen it without the Zorro theme playing during the market fight. It really fit and worked so well.

Maybe all existing prints are damaged and this is the best they can come up with.

I figured for $7.99 currently on Amazon I would just buy it. I love Alain Delon in everything I've seen him in.
Stop the Replacing of original Studio Opening / Closing logos! These are becoming endangered and should be kept intact. They are part of film history.

This only tells me that you have never seen or owned the film on DVD.

Default Just Bought Off of eBay

After viewing the film for the first time, it goes without saying that this tranfer is rough. It's watchable sure, seemingly taken from poor elements that were old anyway. Considering the factors pertaining towards this film in particular, as well as other movies like Zorro; much more could not have been done to improve the footage. Thankfully the film itself is fantastic !!! The climax is beyond epic. Just expect a dvd like image and not a brilliant high def showpiece.

While I agree that the image is rough, I've owned this film on DVD and the DVD transfer was terrible. The film was also cut by about 40 minutes. So for me, this was one hell of an upgrade.
