Sorry, my bad you are of course correct, I just checked my disc.

What about the missimg musical scores? Is that a universal problem or is that simply a problem with the US Barbarian?

Yes I do, and sent you a PM, but keep in mind on the Conan BD, it is not all that bad(only 3 scenes and not even throughout the entire scene) it surely did not stop me from buying these Blu's(HK & US) and who knows, maybe it will get fixed, I personally doubt it, but who knows

to me the HD audio is still WAY better than the original mono by along shot, the original mono never did the score any justice anyways, again my opinion.

Does anyone know if there are plans in the works to fix the bad audio plaguing this movie?

According to a poster in IMDB it seems Fox is working on a new Blu-Ray master with a possible pre-christmas release date (US I'm guessing).

I hope this turns out to be true.

For anyone who loves the music from this classic 80's film Intrada will be releasing the complete, and yes I did say, THE COMPLETE score to this film on Tuesday 27 Nov as a 3 disc set after the original masters, long though lost were found in the vaults early last year.

http://www.underscores.fr/index.php/...-tracklisting/

Conan The Destroyer to follow afterwards.

Give thanks to Crom, you weak mortals.

Can anyone who owns the Australian disc please confirm if it has the corrected 5.1 audio, the mono audio and the correct night filter?

According to this site here it does:
http://www.dvdcompare.net/comparison....php?fid=18450

Quote:
The Australian release, the French Conan - L'integrale de la Saga Steelbook release, and the Italian re-issue release have the uncut release with the original mono track and the corrected audio and video.

just had this edition on - and present are the 5.1 and mono soundtracks for Barbarian

you'll need to be a bit more detailed on the 'night filter' ???

didnt realise that changing 'regions' (region selectable player here) brings up two 'versions' !! So - it would appear, given that the DVDCompare specs were updated in Oct 2015 that this is the addition that you are querying about.

Thank you!
Well, that scene with the night filter is the one where Conan is being chased by the wolves.

In the errored blurays it's day, while it should be night.
I can't find right now a screenshot comparison.
It's around at 25 minutes.

edit: well, here they say it's OK/
But still I don't understand if there was an initial Australian bluray with the errors and then another one that corrected them.

Same as the original. They've either replaced the master without changing anything else, or this was the original Australian release. The latter is unlikely since every other version released in 2011 was the same glitchy one and 20th Century Fox are very good at using the same master for every territory.
So, still I don't know if I buy the single Australian bluray, what I'm going to end up with..

Ok, thanks.
yes, this is how it should be!

edit: Since I'm not familiar with Australian shops, do you think if I order from here

I could get a replacement disc if they send me a possible initial release with the errors?

I'm sorry, but what is going on with this release? I've had the Australian double pack since late 2012, and I haven't gone around to watching this yet.
Criterion is nice,
Arrow is too.
Mention Echo Bridge,
Well, no one will miss you.

Kind of ironic that the worst of Ahnuld's Conan films actually cleaves closer to Mr Howard's original character, even though Destroyer is a pretty bad film. I certainly enjoy CtB 82, but it ain't a true Conan film. A pretty half-hearted attempt to translate Howard's legendary literary creation to the big screen.

Then you should be OK.
Nothing to worry about.
All Conan releases except apparently the French steelbook, the Australian release and Italian reissue don't include mono, have missing choir/percussion in some cues in the 5.1 and have a missing night filter effect.

I'd also like to know if the BARBARIAN solo release is uncut w/mono.

I'd rather not have DESTROYER in my collection. It's not abysmal, it's just not that good.

Australian shops...

JB Hifi

If you aren't in a terrible hurry for this title - then just check it regularly - and you'll 'find' that it will be included in some 'sale' (Buy1Get1Free or B2G1F etc). They are frequently discounting it.

Sanity - as you previous posted link.

As for 'replacement' disc - if you grab the two disc set - you'll find that it contains the versions that we have been discussing.

But to reiterate : there are ongoing 'sales' at places like JB - if you care to wait a small period you might pick up it cheaper.

it would be coming from the same 'batch' that Fox uses in the double pack

as for Destroyer - sure it's the best - but I think I paid $A10 for the two titles !!

I have both versions of the individual release and both look exactly the same. Same cover, same disc, same back. The only differences as far as I can tell are the layer matrices:

Old Disc: A0100959432-A911 & A0100959432-B911

New Disc: A0100973420-A911 & A0100973420-B911
That there is one damn fine coat you're wearing.

4K UHD - The Experts Agree, Occasionally it's a little better!
