I'm quite sure that's because of technical limitations at the time.

If it always looked like that it shouldn't be "fixed".

Sure it can, all Argento needs to do is pull a George Lucas and digitally make it look better.

Said screw it and pre ordered from Amazon UK after the announcement of them selling out on their website. Also have the US edition of Crystal Plumage pre ordered. Both are blind buys and I can't wait to finally see more Argento!

And while he's at it, Donald Pleasance fixes his stairlift and stabs first.

Nah, cut out the middle man and arm Fiore Argento with a sub-machine gun.

I did too. You're in for a treat with Phenomena, I think. It's daft as anything but, for me, is his last great film with some knock out moments. I loved it when I saw it as Creepers, I was blown away by the original Anchor Bay DVD and I've not seen it since so can't wait.

I already decided to wait for the standard edition but now I'm really on the fence. I'm sure this will be a beautiful package. On the other hand I don't really care for different cuts or extras that much, and the OCD in me can't stand the idea of having fancy Phenomena set sitting next to standard editions of Deep Red and Tenebrae.

Pre-ordered on announcement and hoped it would come down. I didn't expect it to go this low though

I pre-ordered this and Crystal Plumage on Amazon so the price drop is most welcome.

Any word if Arrow are doing something similar with Cat O' Nine Tails?

Yep, it's more or less confirmed Arrow will be releasing a new Blu-ray for Cat. They might even officially announce it for a July release today, but I'm guessing a Sept/Oct release might be more likely.

I'm on the exact same boat, but I still pre-ordered it because I can't be sure if the cut released with the standard edition will be the 116 minute one, which is the one I'm interested in. Judging by their previous release I guess it's safe to assume it will be, but still, better safe than sorry. I'll keep it sealed for a while, if the 116 minute cut ends up being released on the standard edition I'll simply sell it new and sealed on eBay, most likely at a profit after it's gone out of print.

I wonder if this will hit 19.99 like Pieces did. Perhaps not now that it is sold out from Arrow.
