I didn't see any comments in the thread, but thought I'd address it as both reviews indicate that there is a running time discrepancy between the "Restored" and "Raw" versions of the film, with the "Restored" version running approximately one minute longer.

From the blu-ray.com review:

From the dvdbeaver.com review:

The difference in running time between the two versions appears to be attributable to the Kino / Holland Releasing / United Artists company credits that precede the start of the movie and restoration / authoring credits that follow the end of the movie on the "Restored" version. These credits are absent on the "Raw" version and appear to have a total duration of about one minute.

There is no footage missing from the "Raw" version.

I'm fascinated by reading the differences between the raw and 'remastered' versions of this release. Public domain releases like this one are such a blessing over the various vhs and dvd versions which have existed for so long. Props again to Kino for a such quality release.

VCI just announced on their Facebook Page (VCI classic films)
That they are also doing White Zombie :

We are about to announce the release of a Blu-ray of WHITE ZOMBIE, which we are doing in partnership with movie archivist, Cary Roan, who just completed a spectacular restoration, and should hopefully prove to be the ‘definitive version’ of this genre classic. Also we will be announcing very shortly, the release of our first Blu-ray serial, CAPTAIN AMERICA. WHITE ZOMBIE will be released on September 10th, and CAPTAIN AMERICA on October 1st. Stay tuned for more to come!

wow, that's quite the news right there.
I've wondered if Roan was ever going to get involved with bd releases.

Great news! If anyone was curious, the 'restored' version looks just as horrible and scrubbed in motion as it does in those caps. I only endured it to listen to the commentary. Glad to know someone will be at least attempting to do it right this time.
