I think they made

fate a bit vague to keep their options open for season 2. If the actor is available and they can't think of any other story lines they'll probably keep him alive.

.with everything that went on next season should be interesting.

Definitely my favorite new show this season along with Hannibal (last episode really creeped me out) and Chicago Fire!
