Default Should I buy another Blu-Ray player?

I am wondering if I should buy another Blu-ray player to back-up my current player or retire my old player and use the new one?

I have a Sony BP-1000ES that is still going strong but I thought I might need a faster Blu-ray player with all the features since it is the current technogoly or keep using my old one until it dies and use the new one

What Blu-ray players do you recommend if you think I should buy one? I prefer Sony blu-ray players only please

Thank you!

I'm using a Sony BDP-BX59 (which is the Costco version of the S590) and I love it, it's a great player and I'd feel comfortable recommending it to someone else. (Costco currently has this model for $79)

I'll divide your question into two parts .... First part will be related to "I thought I might need a faster Blu-ray player..." and second part will be related to "Blu-ray player with all the features since it is the current technogoly..."

I know that waiting for a movie to load for a long time EVERY time you want to watch a movie can be irritating and if you ask me that would be a good enough reason to upgrade.

As for the second part, the current technology ... are you going to use it on regular basis or is this something you'll try once and then forget about it??? Because if it's something you're going to try it once then it may not be worth spending the money.
Display: Sony KDL-46V5100
Blu-Ray: Sony BDP-BX59
Receiver: Pioneer VSX-1325-K
Speakers: Front: Klipsch RF-82, Centre: Klipsch RC-52, Surround: Klipsch RB-61
Subs: Klipsch RW-12D X 2 & RPW-10
Remote: Logitech Harmony 900 RF
Power Conditioner: Ethereal ESP602R Power Manager 2000

It is something I will try once then forget about it but Blu-Ray players are cheap now though so I do not mind spending the money for a faster Blu-ray player

I'd buy a new machine. I bought a new LG-BP620 recently and it is a really stunning player. It's fast loading, amazing amount of features, built in Wi-Fi, 3D enabled and more.

I have several Sony models (including using the PS3) and they've all been reliable.

Then by all means upgrade it ... S590 has a lot of bells and whistles and it's an awesome player!!!

I had a Panasonic BD30 which wouldn't die but exchanged it with a new player 2 months ago.
I'm so glad I did! The difference in loading times is enormous and I wish I'd done it sooner.

Guess that is a good reason to buy a new Blu ray player

Sorry, I do not go out much so I never heard of LG, I heard of Sony, Samsung, Tobisha, and Panosonic

I am deciding between the Sony S790 and S590, I am leaning on the S790 even though it costs $250 but tough decision, does anybody have the S790? If so, how do you like it?

If you want top quality, buy a OPPO.

Saw the Oppo Blu ray players, looks like they have great reviews but the price is higher than the Sony, I think I am going to stick with the Sony

Wait until March. The new Sony BDP-s5100, BDP-s3100, and BDP-s1100 will come out then. Google them to read up about them.
