Thanks.

I mean is it the above Fr release or is there a version sold in the USA?
Yep, as Ray said above just the FR steelbook.

Lol, I can't figure out how to order from Amazon France. I can guess my way thru most of the steps, but I hate to complete a transaction without understanding exactly what the deal is.

What are the "defects" on the UK version and what version is offered?
Thanks again.

The only "defect" is the horse fall being cut (about a second or two). I'm not bothered about that and prefer the nicer looking UK steelbook.

Plus I dont want Destroyer in my collection
What does that mean, Rickles?

So the UK version doesn't have missing music cues?

All discs other than the FR steelbook have the missing cues as well as the night filter missing from Conan's chase scene from the wolves. The FR steelbook, which you can order from Amazon.fr is the only way to get the extended international cut with the correct musical cues and night filter in place. You can easily order it from right here: http://www.amazon.fr/Conan-the-Barba...=B00DRFJNOE&m=

I'd get it quickly though because it looks to be OOP now.

Currently watching Conan the Barbarian with the Blu-ray (video) and LD (audio) synced up, it's absolutely ****ing ridiculous that I need to resort to this to see the theatrical cut with the correct audio. I can't believe Universal never addressed this either through a replacement program or rerelease. At the same time, I never imagined when I bought stuff like The Terminator, Conan and Escape from New York 10+ years ago on LD mostly because they were affordable ($3-5) and I wanted to see the movies I'd have this specific use for them all these years later.

You should have got the FR steelbook when it was cheaper. You can still get it for a good price now if you look around.

From what I can tell that would still be the international/extended cut.

That's correct. It is the international extended cut, which is the best cut of the film in my opinion. That key missing scene with Conan and Subotai and the film's ending just doesn't work as well in the U.S. theatrical cut.

The US Theatrical Cut is not available on Blu-Ray. Only the original non-anamorphic Universal DVD had that cut (126 minutes). What kidglov3s watched is the International Cut. There is only one scene difference between the International Cut and the Extended Cut, which should not affect your decision to get the better Blu-Ray (French Steelbook 2-Pack).

Yeah, and it's ridiculous a HUGE classic of the eighties like this has been given a very lackluster BD treatment. They don't get a clue about their own properties.

Since the version of Conan the Barbarian on the U.S. Blu-ray is the only version of the film that I have ever known, I don't see anything lacking on the disc. It would be nice to have the extended, but I'm not willing to walk a country mile to acquire one.

Pretty much, especially since it's one scene. I'd probably rather it be a deleted scene anyway.
