I can see their point. Any b/w film I want (& there are quite a few), I'd always buy a Blu-ray if possible. But a lot of the time the elements aren't in a great state, & the originals & even first generation dupes are long gone, so there's not a massive upgrade from DVD. As I said, I'd always buy the Blu, but then I'm movie mad, I'm not surprised that the general public wouldn't bother.

Last weekend I saw the old Mummy films from the Universal Legacy Collection, & boy, do they look good. Hardly a mark on them, sharp picture & very good greyscale. A Blu-ray would look a bit better, but not a massive amount...I'd still buy it

What's the chance for the Archive to release the remaining Hitchcock Blus which were in the DVD boxset through them? Or would they be releasing through WHV? Do they count sales through UK sites?
I'm buying the UK WB Hitchcock Blu set with North by Northwest (already own it), Dial M for Murder, and Strangers on a Train. They're exactly the same discs as here in the US of A but far less expensive. No idea what I'll do with the duplicate North by Northwest since I already printed up Nissens gorgeous custom cover art for a Viva Elite case and same for his covers for the other two titles.

It'd be Suspicion, Stage Fright, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, I Confess, and The Wrong Man.

Very disappointing that The Lusty Men is DVD only. New restoration, first release since VHS, Mitchum, Ray...when it got festival screenings I thought that it might even be released on Blu-Ray by WHV themselves, for it to only be released on DVD by the Archive is saddening.

Would WAC ever do a boxset at all? Maybe one for the remaining four Hitchcock films or more Classic Gangster compilations would be great. Maybe The Thin Man Collection and The Johnny Weismueller TARZAN movies?

WAC certainly isn't philosophically opposed to boxed sets. There are more boxed sets of DVDs (or DVD-Rs) from them that you could shake a stick at. Whether they'd do a BD boxed set would likely depend more on what was BD-ready at the same time: what needed restoration, "just" a clean-up, or could be done as is.

By the by, there are five Warner-owned Hitchcocks that need BD releases: Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Suspicion, Stage Fright, I Confess, and The Wrong Man.
List of Twilight Time signed promotional titles.

On The status of the Johnny Weissmuller Tarzan films, it looks like that is being handled by regular ol' Warner Home Video presently . I just asked them about it on The WAC facebook page and they said WHV is currently looking into the possibility of releasing them, but expensive restoration work would be needed to bring them up to par.
