Yeah, but as I learned long ago, you buy enough with the mentality that, eh, it's only a buck, and you end up spending way more than you would just outright buying those rare would-be gems at full new release prices. Tremendous waste of funds in the long run, and I'll add that imo most will probably never see the inside of a player.

Maybe, but I'd rather have fun, spend $15 or $25 - not an abnormally large sum - and walk out with various "treasures" and "trash." The hunt and overall experience is part of the appeal.

I agree with the spirit of this wholeheartedly and understand how discovering something could be a lot of fun. for me, however, and I'm sure many others, there isn't enough time to watch the good or important releases much less dollar store trash starring the kid from Silver Spoons.

Picked up all 5 volumes of Astro Boy at one store. Nothing else piqued my interest.

The last couple of times that I was in my local Dollar Tree, they didn't have a single blu-ray in sight.

That's because Dollar Tree doesn't regularly carry movies. They run special movie sales a few times a year, and if you see anything later on, it's whatever was left over from the previous sale. Also, in this case, no one has reported seeing Blus among the DVDs.

Well, a friend of mine wanted to go Dollar Tree, so we went to two of them today. Other than the Astro Boy volumes, which I passed on (no complete set at either of mine), I saw almost nothing from CinemaSickness's video - although, to be honest, I don't exactly have his haul memorized. But unless I'm mistaken, stock varies wildly this time.

I had an internal dialogue with this gentleman over my left shoulder and Bad Arnold over my right shoulder.

VS.

Bad Arnold won.

My haul (in a handy text list, so there should hopefully be no complaints):

DVDs

- American Crude (slashed spine from cut)
- Benji Off The Leash / Benji's Very Own Christmas
- The Big Picture
- Designing Women: Volume 1
- Fragments
- From Prada to Nada
- Gigli
- The Hades Factor
- Imaginary Heroes
- The Jone$es
- Kickin' It Old School
- Monsuno Destiny: Volume 1
- My Big Fat Greek LIFE (TV series – only found one copy, so it's "rare" for Dollar Tree)
- Nora Roberts: High Noon
- Nora Roberts: Tribute
- Nothing But the Truth
- November
- Roxy Hunter and the Mystery of the Moody Ghost Movie
- Smart People
- Sugar

Books

- One Click (Richard L. Brandt) – I've actually been wanting to read it, so this alone made the trip worthwhile
- Yes Ma'am, No Sir (the basis for the movie Coach Carter)

They also had: At least three Tae Bo workout DVDs (which my friend bought), Notes on a Scandal (Judi Dench), Half-Nelson (Ryan Gosling), Kabluey (Lisa Kudrow), Vampires Suck (Twilight parody, I guess), and a weird Spicy Cherry flavor of Mr. Pibb that I didn't try but wanted to.

NO Blus, as expected. And no Ricky Schroder movie.
