Good point! Being a subscriber to HBO/Cinemax I have a DVR'd copy of the TC (in 5.1) and a copy from EPIX with the 2.0 stereo soundtrack! I'll live with them presently since the quality (in my eyes) is top notch HD!

Can't stand the directors cut. Would be great to have the original released.

I just found something out! There is a Warrior's reunion Sept 15-18 in Brooklyn (Coney Island) All living cast members are attending. Walter Hill (director) and Lawrence Gordon were supposed to attend but had to withdraw! There is a screening of the film, followed by a Q&A after, along with memorabilia and signings I believe!
The Q&A, I learned will be broadcast by one of the networks, and it is going to be included on a collector's edition Blu-Ray for Christmas! Just hope it is the theatrical cut! Something tells me it will be!

The Warriors, one of my all time favorite gang movies. I remember seeing this at the drive-in, in the summer of 1979. A gang of us, (no pun intended) piled into a couple of cars and away we went. I believe it only cost like $5 a car load back then, so it was fairly cheap to see a movie back then.

This is one of my favorite scenes in the movie:

Funny since I was born in 1979 and I also miss the Drive-In. Hoping if there is a new reelease, it'd have both versions available to watch. Obviously I'd prefer to watch the Theatrical first. Really tempted to look for the Theatrical Cut DVD.
The Rockstar video game is great too.

Yep, my DVD edition is getting creakier by the day, getting the theatrical on Blu would make my millennium.

Guess a boxed set of the theatrical release of the "The Warriors" and "Streets of Fire" would be too much to hope for?

Well, Netflix and Amazon Prime have been carrying a widescreen HD version of the original cut off and on for a few years now (it's def on Netflix right now), so it seems like it's past time for a Blu-ray release!
