Interesting information and it's cool to think that an even higher quality version may eventually find it's way to the public. It's certainly a quality presentation however especially since it's in Dolby Digital 5.1 rather than an uncompressed TrueHD or DTS-MA format. We've had releases from Mill Creek, Echo Bridge, and others that have presented a worse product at similar file sizes.

Really wish this version would get a Blu. These additions would make the movie perfect for me.

The unrated cut is awesome. Really gory and very supenseful. I never watched the R-rated, so this was my first viewing. If they ever release a formal unrated version, I'll get it day one. :-)

I'll believe it when I see it. If the unrated version was coming out next month why are we just now hearing about it?

And the way he talks there is going to be a lot of new material, but the extended cut that was played in UK was only around 5 minutes longer.

That would be cool if they released it in the Canadian Pop Art steelbook.

My spanish is non-existant, but looking closely at the original interview http://altapeli.com/entrevista-a-fed...e-no-respires/ i now believe Alvarez is talking about the bluray release of his latest film, not evil dead!

I hope i am wrong.

Reading this, I think he IS talking about an extended version of Evil Dead:

Quote:

He's basically saying he can't say anything yet, and doesn't know much, but that he is going to sit down with the studio and it seems that around Halloween the extended version will be available. Does seem like short notice...

A dream come true. Hopefully it'll contain at least all the extra footage from the TV extended cut that was shown in the UK. Made the movie MUCH better imo

How exactly would Don't Breathe be out on Blu-Ray in time for Halloween?!?

He's definitely talking about ED(excuse the odd translation):

What about extended versions of your films? Some years ago an extended cut of Evil Dead curiously aired on British TV only filtered.
If , it filtered and indeed someone was a mistake that sent him study there in a totally accidental.
Was not even in your plans show that cut ?
Not at all. He escaped and then removed , but got to see once . Anyway I give you the news almost exclusively because one does not know yet , but this extended cut will come out on blu - ray . Just a few hours ago we talked about the study and it seems that Halloween will be available.

Really hopes this comes to be true. Before, I said a unrated version would be pointless because the theatrical-version was the director's cut... but there were certainly some things in that UK television airing that I wish were left in the theatrical version.

Isn't Carrie '13 also supposed to have a extended version? I always associate these two because they were marketed together, so maybe Sony is cooking up new releases for both.

MGM released Carrie on Blu-ray, though.

Oh, right. The movie was a MGM/Sony collaboration, but that wouldn't lead to any possible extended-editions tie-ins.

How did you see it? Is it streaming somewhere? I'm curious to see it but I don't know if I like this movie enough to buy a SECOND disc, I'd like to see what I'm getting myself into first. The movie-censorship thing is helpful, but doesn't really tell me how it plays (obviously).

It's only available illegally. It got uploaded online after it aired by mistake in the UK. I haven't seen it, but I'm guessing that's how he watched it.

Oh man, this movie is good but every time I watch it, I can't shake the feeling that it really needs a bit more in the front. ANYTHING with the blonde girl would improve her character. And the original "we're gonna get you" song from the cellar was such a good throwback.
Itchy itchy. scott came. ugly face so killed him. Tasty. 4// itchy. tasty.
