rented FOTR and yet again another blu ray with a mastering defect. Encountering more and more of these from netfix. no probs from blockbuster online but 99 % of the bad BD's all netflix. like is netflix using a cheap material or something... get to the layer change and poof. frozen. not that there is a layer change but whenever it gets to that area it locks up. No matter what drive I've got it on. Hitachi or Panasonic.. Didn't really wanna buy them now I know why I won't buy them. master sucks.

I don't think you know what you're talking about. What does the master have to do with anything?

Perhaps it's renting second hand Blu-ray discs that causes issues, because people clearly don't take adequate care of this stuff.
