The Batman logo was CGIed into the movie specifically for the Criterion release.

Anyone see the Doodlebig short?
I'd seen it before on DVD, but the version on the Blu-ray looks... terrible. Even the clips shown in other special features look substantially better.

I couldn't even read the text. I hope it's something wrong with my player or display.

Such a great debut. Following works a sort of blue print for Nolan's sophomore and best film yet, Memento. Really wish we had a region B release, specially since it's a British film. If the Criterion release has the commentary then I advise all of you budding filmmakers to seek it out as Nolan has great advice on how to guerilla film a no budget film using friends, natural light and random locations.

Wish Nolan would go back to his indie roots and do more neo noirs.

Absolutely quality PQ and restoration here on this amazing Criterion Collection set and nice extras too, Nolan's debut made him a cult icon and went on to become one of Hollywood's newest directors
