It looks like I was wrong. The Theatrical 5.1 Mixes were used to create the 7.1 Mixes for the Blu-Ray Presentations. So the audio is faithful to the Theatrical Presentation.

Although like many I'm inherently suspicious of 3D conversion jobs, I have to say - Jurassic Park is pretty freaking awesome. Like Spielberg says on one of the extras, he didn't intend it at the time but he really was going for a 3-D look in the first place, so the cinematography really lends itself well to the format.
If you have to whip out a microscope to decide if you like a Blu-ray or not, you are missing the point.

There are some comparisons online now for various hdtv rips and they all look great compared to the 2D dnr disc
