I know I'm responding to a post over 7 months old, but I just watched my copy tonight. First, I don't see them ever doing anything about it. They pretty much just threw it out on Blu-ray, and they would have done something long before now. Second, the audio sync issue is bad enough in some areas that I might end up selling my copy and sticking with the DVD copy I bought along with this to have special features.

The person earlier in this thread that said the video quality being the most important thing is wrong in this instance. It wouldn't matter if this was 5/5 PQ. If you get taken out of the movie many times over, then I'd say the audio sync problem is much more important in this case. It's a shame since I did a comparison between the DVD being upcoverted in an Oppo and the Blu-ray and the PQ is sizeable jump even if the DVD looks solid for a DVD.

Another thing I noticed while doing the comparison is that the movie on the Blu-ray is 7 seconds longer than the movie on the DVD. That's a sign right there that something got screwed up even before noticing the audio sync problem.

I'm pretty disappointed since it had been a long time since I had seen this movie. It would have been nice to rediscover it after all of these years with a proper Blu-ray because it was still entertaining in the scenes that I could actually get into.
