In Spain we have a shop called 'CEX' for second hand dvd and blu-ray (I don't know wether this shop exists out of Spain):
they use a big (I mean BIG) and red stickers over absolutely everything: amarays, slipcovers... even digipacks and steelbooks.

I bought there once and after trying everything I could imagine I had to throw away the case of the movie.

Obviously... I didn't go back there.

My Taken 3 slipcover is messed also thanks to the stickers, luckily the bluray cover is the same. Most of my sticker issues have been with Fox titles.
The Ghostbusters earned their Stripes and to relax decided to go play golf, but got locked in the Caddyshack by the Gopher with The Blues Brothers who are hiding from a Dragnet but luckily they all escaped to The Great Outdoors, where they met a ranger who turned out to be The Man Who Knew Too Little because everything he said was Lost In Translation.

I don't understand why they can't just seal the blu-ray with inexpensive plastic protective sleeves and then stick whatever the hell they want on it.

mine had the same problem, I take a baby wipe and a dab or Germ-X and just keep rubbing that spot in circles and it comes out in a few minutes.. obviously you have to stay clear of the folds and the edges and it won't work on the non-glossy kind of slipcovers..

or even just wrap the slipcover in the plastic wrap and put stickers on the plastic like with BD that don't have slipcover

I really wish Fox would use something better if they insist on stickers. My Wild came today and I can't get the residue off, and my Goo Gone is in storage because I just moved. It shouldn't be this difficult to remove stickers without ruining the slip.

The last few blu's I've picked up had stickers that ripped the slip covers. I either tossed the cover or laid the sticker back down. Even using goo-b-gone they wouldn't come off without chipping. My disappointment and nerd rage was real.

No no no! I collect those plastic protective sleeves! They're really fragile and stickers would be impossible to get off without permanently ruining them! The stickers should go on the cardboard underneath the sleeve because we can see through the nice sleeve and still see the sticker without putting the glorious collectible sleeve at risk! I really don't understand why folks obsess over cardboard when its obvious that its only job is to protect the shrink wrapping around the case around the movie.

They really need to put some sort of cardboard throaway slip cover over the protective sleeve that covers the cardboard that shields the shrink wrapping that guards the case that holds the movie. That's the only good solution. Unless someone wants to collect THAT as well.

How about just using stickers that peel off easily?

Went to Best Buy yesterday and it looks like they might actually be phasing out the stickers they put on their slipcovers! They had tons of copies of "50 Shades of Grey" and NONE had any Best Buy stickers on them- a few other recent titles also had no stickers. I hadn't gone in their store in a long time because I simply refuse to buy any slipcovered movie if the store puts stickers on them; I complained to Best Buy about it a few times so maybe they actually started listening.
