Glad I could help!

If you have region 2 DVD capability the Optimum 9 disc set from the U.K. has the same 5 + 4 more..all good prints. I think I paid about $25-30 shipped. It's called Alfred Hitchcock The Early Years.

Yeah I saw the UK 9 Film Collection but yeah unfortunately I am locked in with region 1 & A. I always say I am going to do something to change that but I never do

CriterionCast just posted that the Hitchcock Nine will be shown at the SF Silent Film Festival and then go on to Brooklyn with more cities to follow. Wouldn't be too shocking if The Lodger (at least) gets picked up for Blu-Ray distribution during/after this run.
US/UK films that need to be on blu-ray:Foreign Correspondent (1940, Hitchcock), The Wicker Man (1973, Hardy), Thunderheart (1992, Apted) , Lone Star (1996, Sayles)

Foreign films that need to be on blu-ray:
Raise The Red Lantern (1991, Zhang), The Best of Youth (2003, Giordana), Still Life (2006, Jia), 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days (2007, Mungiu)

Alfred Hitchcock: The Essentials Collection Blu-ray
Nice, this a solid set. I will pick this up eventually. The Masterpiece collection is too expensive with too many films I don't care about.

I like that MGM three-pack as well, but holy crap the price better drop on that!

Alfred Hitchcock: The Essentials Collection Blu-ray
These are actually the only Hitchcock films that I want to own so it is ESSENTIAL to me.

Well, I doubt the quality is the same, but you could order this 3 pack from Spain for less than 20 Euros.

This might be a large question, but what's the likelihood of any currently available titles changing distributor rights in the future? I'm wondering if Universal will eventually follow-up the smaller, Essentials collection with another set. I'm also wondering if Dial M and Strangers could be grouped in a Universal set a la NxNW, but I'm probably reaching there.

I don't think that'll happen. North By Northwest was included in the US Hitchcock set as a returned favour because Universal had earlier allowed Warner to use Spartacus in their US release of the Kubrick boxset.

This may sound weird, but does anyone know what kind of packaging this will come in? Digibook, Viva, etc?
