I still have my Kenner action figures from the 70's stored away.

I think you mean your Mego action figures from the 70's

And it's more like this

1. Planet of the Apes
2. Beneath the Planet of the Apes
.
.
.
3. Escape from the Planet of the Apes
4. Conquest of the Planet of the Apes
5. Battle for the Planet of the Apes

I posted this a few weeks back, but I have these action figures in my work office right now.

[Show spoiler]

I work with environmental protection regulations, so the figures, in the order as shown in the photo, actually convey the "Science...Judicial...Enforcement" vibe that I'm trying to convey at work.

You're welcome hasslein. I'm glad you like them. My printer is broken so I haven't actually seen them printed and displayed. Thanks for sharing your photo!

Definitely agree with you regarding keeping the Apes physically evolved like their human counterpart but one thing I hope they do as well if they ever get to the original POTA, I would like them to ditch the CGI/Mocap and use actual prosthetics. Don't get me wrong love what they did with Dawn and the mocap was something amazing and groundbreaking and Dawn is up there with one of my favorite Ape films but it would be nice to pay homage to the OG films and John Chambers inspiring make-up artistry.

While I'm a fan of the iconic original movie, I always found the sequels to play out like 1970's TV episodes. The feel was gone. Sure, they had all the props and conventions of being part of the Planet of the Apes story, but they felt nothing like what they should have been. Like The Star Wars prequels......sure they had all the Star Wars conventions of lasers and aliens and Jedi, etc......but the movies felt like they didn't belong to any part of the universe the first 3 set down. Or even the third Godfather movie, which felt so far removed in feel from the first two. It's like that saying in the commercial: The look and feel of cotton. I think in the case of POTA, the first movie was the only one that got it right in terms of feeling......

I actually in my heart love Escape and Conquest the most... probably because they're so fast and loose and the first one, for all its merits, is less fun. To me... those films have a certain quality of life to them that I found missing from the more stately original. I'm happy with the films exactly as they are, I would not want to live in a world without Planet, Beneath, Escape, Conquest and Battle.
