I don't even know if a regular case exists. Most if not all purchased the steelbook. I haven't seen a single picture of the regular case.

I figured, since I'm going to spend this much, might as well go all the way and get the steelbook instead. In any case, I had no regrets. The steelbook was really nice. And the encodes was very good.

For some reason, the steelbook is cheaper.

Steel : http://www.amazon.co.jp/Dredd-Blu-ra...=AN1VRQENFRJN5

Regular Elite (?) case : http://www.amazon.co.jp/Dredd-Blu-ra...=AN1VRQENFRJN5

I know I'm in the minority, but I don't like steelbooks (although this one looks nice). I just wanted to be sure they had the same awesome disc (the important part ). But, I just checked on getting that & Terminator 2 from Amazon.JP > $77.54 shipped! ... Gonna have to wait for a really special birthday or something.

The steelbook comes out to about $34.62 before shipping. I would get it, but after shipping it would be about $40. If it was $30 after shipping I'd be all over it.

If there is, I hope they ditch that hybrid 3D crap & put the two versions on separate, well-mastered discs.

I need to go check out this sequel news....but bottom line. Karl Urban is on record several dozen times saying he'd do another sequel and proponent for getting one made. Much like, and what irony, Vin Diesel with Riddick.... I'm sure as long as his schedule allows (mostly his tv show) he'll be doing it.

"I'd buy that for a dollar!" - TV Show Host, Robocop

Nothing is confirmed; nothing is green-lit; it's not as simple as people think and there are significant distribution issues to be ironed out:

Yeah, that's all I've read as well. KU and the makers of the original film are in talks with the studio. Promising, but hardly a done deal.

I usually see the JP and FR releases cited as having the best PQ for 2D. Any opinions on best PQ for 3D?

Default Dredd 3D (2012) - Jan. 22, 2013

This was such an amazing film. It would have done so much better if it would have been marketed better. I say they market it again and re-release it.

I can't imagine the 3D image being any better than the U.S. disc.

I agree with you. Most of the first movies marketing didn't come from the studio and instead came from word of mouth and buzz from movie forums.

I also would like to see the first film shown before the 2nd and if people would like to watch the first one again on the big screen they can and it should come with a special pass or poster or something. I think that would be a nice money cushion for the 2nd film to sit on.

I've never seen this and I just saw my first trailer for it last night on Expendables 2. Looked incredible! Don't know if the US BD looks as good as the trailer (and I missed it and a couple of others on Amazon cuz I couldn't get my order up to $35 for stuff I really wanted ), but I ordered it right away from BB - only to find afterwards that they were backordered and it won't be here until late-March or April!

Associating Dredd w/ the Stallone version will definitely destroy any chances of Dredd 2.
